Wonder what our gardens would look like if we could put in all our favourites? I'd start with DDaisy's arch in France and a jacaranda!

19 Oct, 2010

Well, Alex guess you could have an all year round model there..oh forgot Spike! You might be fighting for space there!!

19 Oct, 2010

Ah Tetrarch he has destroyed my balcony plats. But it was to be expected, my fault for not moving them earlier. He used them for shade last month when it was really sunny and now as toys!!!
Moved them all,ha. He can play with his toys now.

oh dear, thats the trouble with you young uns, cant control your kids! If he was mine he would have a sore bum by now...did I tell you I have a vivid imagination? lol

19 Oct, 2010

lol...I don't have enough time to train him yet....only a few more days to freedom!!!! ;o)

19 Oct, 2010

That tree.....no words are adequate. Do you know if the blossom is like our Japanese cherry? My brother-in-law was looking at another photo of a Jacaranda and made the comment the blossom looked similar to the cherry blossom we have here...but obviously a much more beautiful colour!

M, did you see Lori's photo of Jacaranda she has grown from seed? She is going to try growing them as bonsai in an oval bowl in a grouping. If she succeeds it will be like a small grove of trees. I was fascinated by how small the seedlings are.

Wow that is amazing , you would be forgiven for thinking your eye-sight had gone funny if you walked down the street and saw that ... !!

I did that Amy! and dragged everyone on a Jacaranda chase! J the flowers are bell shaped, and no havent checked out Lori's photo yet, I must - but they do grow quite fast I believe.

Tetrarch:

That's one beautiful Jacaranda tree. This tree is about the size of the one in my front yard. But luckily, this one isn't growing into telephone wires. lol! :>)

All the Jacarandas are in full bloom here in San Diego right now.

29 May, 2012

I am browsing Jacaranda......fed up with snow...this has cheered me, what a beautiful sight!

11 Mar, 2013

Jacarandas tree photos can be very cheery on a cold day. :>)

Yes, indeed, and they were! I am now wondering what my chances are of seeing one in flower in Marrakech next week...I suppose it's possible!

11 Mar, 2013

I would guess they're maybe just starting to bloom in Marrakesh, Morocco. I haven't noticed any blooming here yet; however, soon they will be. :>)

The weather here for the next 10 days is suppose to be warm to hot...maybe temps higher than 90ºF (32ºC) from: Wednesday - Saturday. It's already 74ºF (23ºC) at about 11:00 a.m. today.

11 Mar, 2013

Oh, please Delonix, don't rub it in any more!! lol ;)))

11 Mar, 2013

LOL! Actually, 90ºF (32ºC) is too hot for me, for this time of the year. 80ºF (27ºC) is perfect and it's perfect for the plants, also.

11 Mar, 2013

Well, OH has just informed me that it will be 30C in Marrakech next week, and that is a bit too hot for me too! Still, at that temp. there is a good chance I might actually get to use the hotel pool! I haven't used a hotel pool for years, as we have been going away in winter when the unheated pools are too freezing for me! So, that's something to look forward to!

11 Mar, 2013

It most likely will be a big shock for you...especially if its snowing there. I hope you get to go swimming and see the Jacarandas in bloom! :>)

90ºF (32ºC) for me isn't a shock, it's just too hot! We can get 90ºF (32ºC) or hotter temps in the middle of January. Although, it didn't happen this year.
