A thank you for my gifted plant

I’ve been unable to find out who amongst GoY members sent me the Gardenia ‘Kleims Hardy’…so wanted to thank you here on this blog and show a photo.

It is still in its small pot but will be planted once the borders are established, or in a larger pot with some other plants around it (I keep changing my mind…lol)

It is already showing signs of fresh growth which is very pleasing to see. Many thanks once again. x

It had a Leeds address if that gives anyone a clue for me...but I think the giver is happy to remain anonymous.

I don't remember the colour was mentioned on the description....I'll try and remember to look on the label tomorrow and will post if the info is there, Ladybug.

What a lovely surprise for you - it must have made your day.

I bet whoever sent you it is feeling so happy that they did.

It will be interesting to see what it's like when it's in flower.

Yes, a nice surprise indeed. I will post pictures when it is in flower. Thanks Hywel and Marie.

Lovely gift, the flowers are white slightly cream with age with a strong scent. They seem to prefer slightly acid conditions to thrive, mine struggled until i repotted it in ericaceous compost.

Yes, Plantoholic....I read on the plant tag that it needed ericaceous soil and I have a bag of that so will be sure to use that. Thanks for the description of the flowers etc.

lol@ Joanella....I am changing my mind a lot these days when it comes to the garden....probably good that it is taking time to get whipped into shape! lol

I've seen this plant advertised and offered a few times J, but I just find it really hard to believe it's hardy!....I'm an old cynic!! lol....let me know how you get on with it, it looks lovely! :)

Well Karen....you do live in Scotland!! lol There is hardy and there is hardy (except in Scotland)...hehe

If I forget to tell you about its hardiness, give me a reminder or a long distance kick in the shins, Karen....:)
