At long last the date of my hip operation has finally come through. ..Monday 5th of November. I’m glad it’s happening but I have to admit to getting more and more nervous. I’m sure I’ll be fine, and being pain free will be great.
I’ll keep an eye on you all and I’ll be back soon.

Everyone with a replacement hip that I know has been fine
but I bet they were all nervous! And there will be fireworks afterwards all over the country to celebrate...
We're all rooting for you!

All the very best for tomorrow. It's natural to feel nervous but you will be in good hands.

A friend had a new hip two months ago and blesses the day it was done. You'll be doing the polka before you know it!

You're all so kind, thank you! As for the dancing. ..I can't dance now and never could apart from 'disco' dancing, so I don't think a new hip will alter that. I'm just looking forward to getting stuck into the garden again.

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for all your kind wishes. The operation went well and I came home on Wednesday...to be honest I couldn't have stood another sleepless night (3 in a row) so insisted unless there was a very good reason why not, I was going home. It's been a struggle and rather painful, but back in my own environment and my own bed has made such a difference. The physio has been out to see me and she's pleased with my progress so far. The secret is doing the exercises, no matter how uncomfortable they may be, which I am determined to do. You can't keep a yorkshire lass down!

I'm glad it went well & you are back home. You will feel better each day and a good night's sleep. Nice to hear back from you Julia!

Good on yer Waddy - stick with it! Its very good that you can have home visits from the physio. It should be all improvement from now on.

so glad you are home and making good progress. Hospitals are very noisy aren't they? keep up the physio no matter how uncomfortable. you know it will be worth it. :o)
xx

Waddy, there's no place like your own home for R&R. In the hospital, especially through the night, the nurses come round to check your obs., normally just as you have fallen asleep! Wishing you a good recovery.

I'm glad you're home now and recovering :) x

Well done Julia! You keep doing those exercises and you'll be up and about in no time. It will take time, but you'll be rid of the walking stick by the time spring comes :)
