HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural and healthy foods and sound agriculture which helps to regenerate and protect the countryside and wildlife.
Onion Sturon has pungent white flesh and firm brown skinned bulbs. Combine these tasty onions with fresh sage for a classic stuffing mixture. Usefully these onions have good storage ability.

Sow from March to April thinly and in prepared soil in a sunny spot 13mm deep in drills 45cm apart. Thin seedlings when they are large enough to handle to 5cm apart for smaller bulbs or 7-10cm apart for larger bulbs.Harvest August to September lifting the bulbs on a dry sunny day. Allow them to dry off on the soil surface and if desired store fully ripened sound bulbs in nets or trays for use throughout the Autumn and Winter.
