hello friends,
as some of you know angelina hasnt been well for some time and yesterday she had a vet appointment to see how things were going with her tumor, well she had lost alot more weight and it had grown more but as far as we know she wasnt in any pain, anyway the lovely vet alister decided on a blood test to see if she had thyroid trouble which would account for the rapid weight loss and not eating, but he didnt manage to get alot of bood because she became distressed, but thought there would be enough for at least the thyroid test,
anyway i took her home and let her out of her carrier but she collapsed and couldnt seem to breath, so i called the vet and was told to take her back right away.they said it was due to the stress of blood test and journey home,
they put her on oxygen and by 4pm was alot better and we brought her home, she slept till about 7pm, then went to drink some water but very wobbly, baz said she was still drinking and i thought it was a long time so went to check her, she had collapsed again, so lots of cuddles and love, she settled down,
then about 11pm she woke and tried to get to her litter tray but was very unsteady and didnt seem to know where she was going and her bladder let her down, i quickly picked her up and talked to her as she was such a clean cat and was stressed because of the accident, she just wasnt getting any better, so i call the emergency vet and we took her there,
a long talk and examination by a lovely lady vet who told me her heart was missing beats and her kidneys felt swollen and very lumpy, she had had enough and was giving up fast,
the vet left us to decide what to do and after baz and myself talked decided to let her go, she just huggled up to me and looked at me, i could see she just wanted to sleep, my beautifull angel was tired of life ,so at midnight i held her as she fell into her last sleep, we have decided to have her cremated and bring her ashes to be buried in the garden she loved to be in, when i finish my new garden project i will have a special place for her there,
i miss her so very much and cant stop crying, i know i made the right choice and she is at peace now, god bless you sweet angel, sleep well, love you forever mum, dad and joe xxx

Sorry to hear that you have lost her she was so pretty too, she has had a good life with you, for future reference to all cat lovers Hills diet for cats helps them live longer, especially with the kidneys. I know a lady who informed me of this and her cat is in its 20s.

Oh i am saddened to read of your loss, another loving pet passes over Rainbow bridge to hopefully something better.
What you did was one of the hardest things about having pets, you can feed them, love them and care for them, but the hardest thing is to let them go.

Your gorgeous very pretty Angelina will always have a place in your heart and its lovely to hear she'll always have a place in your garden.

I'll light a candle this evening for you and your Angelina xxThinking of you xx

San....Jane here.Just in from work and came straight on to see how things were with you. Have been thinking of last nights upset all day and was half expecting to see this sad news. All can say is that you did right by her as loving owners, and that she is now at peace. To have a special resting place in your garden is a lasting reminder of your lovely cat.Perhaps you can plant a beautiful shrub or rose in her memory.Love to you both from Ray and myself...xxx

as everyone says you have bravely done the right thing but it is so hard and you miss them so much , I guess that she has been with you for quite a while

Oh my heart bleeds - my own cat staggered on till she was 18 and a half, but then one night collapsed and couldn't seem to control her body - emergency vet, 2 a.m., put her to sleep, probable brain tumour; cat was deeply distressed, so we allowed the vet to do it. My son and I cried all night... and again the next day when we buried her. I could hardly bear to leave her shut in a box in the shed overnight, awful, awful. My sympathy, Sanbaz.

hi everyone just thought i would make some kind of effort to thank you all for your kind words and lovely comments about angelina, i may not have had her from a kitten but when i got her she had been so badly treated and neglected i had to bring her home, i could have had a lovely healthy young cat but i kept going back to her pen and knew she needed me, we spoiled her and she never wanted for anything, food warmth love and cuddles, i know in my heart she had the happiest years of her life being here with us, her little face would light up when i came home, wanting her cuddle and kiss, i miss that so much, i stayed with her till the end and cant wait for her to come home to be in the garden she loved, im looking for a nice plant or shrub for her place now so we can remember her, so once again i thank you all for you comments and those of you who sent me lovely private msg`s to, i will be back for short bursts till im feeling able to concentrate more,
love sandra xxx
