I have this lovely Clematis, can someone ID it for me, Ha! Snails have destroyed the tag Grrrr! LOL
Plus it only had 4 flowers, how can I get it to carry on flowering, its in a pot :o))

I can't name it but if this is its first season, it's done quite well I would think, especially if it's in a pot. Very pretty. Any double ones I've had have been comparatively short-lived. I find the viticellas bloom more abundantly and for longer.

Thanks for replying Pennyfarthin.
I have had it for a few years, & placed it against the shed last year as it wasn't doing well in the other side of the garden, I was going to dead head it but I checked I it said not to dead head, lucky I checked as I thought all plants should be dead headed LOL.
I took the pic on 30th May, I'm not sure if it is one that one prunes down at the end of the year?

Maybe repot it or put it in the ground? They are quite greedy. If I were you I'd look up 'Josephine' and follow the pruning advice given for that as it looks very similar in habit.
