Any idea what "the tree" actually is Alfi? We need to know so that we can tell you if it will take or not and the best way to do it. Some "trees" need certain procedures to ensure success and as mentioned, some will not root or propagate at all from cuttings/shoots.

Aha, the name. Well, Unfortunately Cordyline don't take very well as cuttings. I would leave them to grow on the plant as a multi-stemmed specimen. They look really good like this.
