I have 'Georgia Blue' and I can recommend it. It seems to flower twice in a season. It prefers a sunny position - you don't say if your borders are in the sun, or shade?

Are they completely empty or are you filling gaps?

there half and half as the day goes on it gets quite a lot of sun but not full sun all day long, they will be empty after the summer i tried putting some snow carpet in but some didn't take so it looks a bit patchy so i want some thing thats gonna take over with very little maintenance, also im having difficulty tracking down the seeds for it do you have any suggestions

There are some evergreen geraniums that might help too, but not sure about growing them from seed.

Don't forget spring bulbs for the time when the borders are very dull and empty looking - daffodils will come up every year.Omphaloides (blue eyed Mary) has pretty blue speedwell like flowers in early spring and is evergreen. Again don't know about seeds but not expensive and makes a big clump in a few years.

http://www.thompson-morgan.com/plants-for-groundcover has a very useful list of ground cover you can grow from seed.

Hi, by all means grow from seed, but whatever you do,don't buy plants from t&m.
You say you want something that will take over, but low maintenance!, well anything that takes over will be anything but low maintenance, you will spend most of your time trying to get rid of whatever you have chosen, Derek.
