I have this plant and it is a complete nightmare - it speads everywhere even into my lawn. How can I get rid of it.

dig every part of it up you can see and keep mowing it down . get every part you can and keep at it and it will go away eventualy unless the nieghbers have it . if so get some membrane and mulch over the top . this way you just keep the plants you want a lot easier.
