Can someone please tell me what to do in the vegetable garden, at the end of the season. Yes I know it's too early to be thinking of it now; but I always seem to do things at the wrong time. A kinda need a calender of veg jobs month by month. Especially when and how to put the garden to bed and how to get it ready for the new season. Just thought I'd get ahead of myself. Not really gone bonkers

You can buy a gardeners diary, put in day to day what you do and many have full details of what you need to do. I have kept notes for 20 years, which are always good to look back on, I can see how the seasons have changed over the years, even so I keep most of what I need in my head.

Hi Great,
At the end of the year I will be covering most of my allotment plot with farm yard manure and leaving it until March time. I won't put manure where I am going to plant carrots or any of the onion family. I won't be digging it in either!
Don't forget you should still have some brasica's in.
Oh yes, if your not totally stark raving loony, why are you growing veggies? Lol

I will be leaving mine open to the elements Great. Partly due to the size of an allotment and partly because the elements will help to rot down the manure and come spring I will be able to plant straight into it. (Lazy man's gardening! Lol)
