Salvia lyrata 'Purple Volcano' (Salvia lyrata)

Interesting, rather than pretty....I don't think I'll grow them again, although the dark leaves are lovely as a contrast.

Purple Sage? the dark maroon brachts are very interesting....you would need a very large clump to make a statement though? I really like the trumpet shaped flowers.

Yes - that might work. I have two together...maybe more of them would have been better.
