Sun Roses

Sun Roses (Helianthemum nummularium (Common Rockrose))

Grown from seed originally, these rock sunrises are all that are left of my alpine lawn, which is being encroached by my Irises.

Pretty cheerful little plants, when the sun is shining..

I agree with Dd, I have a yellow and orange one. Quick question Siris, mine have gone a bit woody in the middle plus I don't trim them in case I kill them, any ideas on their care, thanks

I think if you cut into the old wood you might kill them. I try to trim when young if I remember or alternately take seed or pin down a stem to make a new plant.

Thanks Siris. I'm wary about cutting into old wood, I've lost Cytisus by doing that. I never thought of looking for seed. Hmmm I will layer some too and see what happens, thank you
