Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm

Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm (Pachypodium lamerei - Madagascar Palm)

Not a true palm, however, related to Plumeria. This succulent with thorns is the smallest plant at Quail Botanical Gardens. It had flower buds..which should start blooming soon. For my GoY friend Sandra.

I cant believe Andy you dont have these. Great looks, blooms, and the fat trunk of some cultivars is eye catchy. Also, some develop that golden trunk. Like spined Plumeria.

I do have an unusual species. I've had it for years. It bloomed this year back in early May.

Most of the Pachypodiums bloomed very early this year...because of the very hot weather.
