Mothering Sunday

Visit to Tregothnan Estate near Truro where they grow tea thanks to the way camellias flourish there as you can see!

They grow the tea camellias Gwendas, on sort of terraces at Tregothnan, and the bushes are a small variety C.sinensis. Have you been into Charlottes tea rooms, Truro, where they serve Tregothnan tea?. Bye the way, not sure if I will be at Boconnoc on the Sat. may be Sunday, but I will put my mobile number on a private message to you. PamD

Aaah that explains something we saw then Pamd! Haven't put that picture on but we saw lots of small camellias behind fencing in terraces - no-one around to explain! Not been to Charlottes - whereabouts is it? Will send you my phone numbers privately.

Hi Jo
Charlotte's is in the coinage hall at end of main high st. opp. empty Woolworths!!.lol & faces the war memorial. You go round the side & up an old Victorian staircase, two flights up. It's a very oldy worldy cafe, the waitresses wear long black dresses with white pinafore aprons white headbands. The decore is, chandeliers, brocade curtains, sugar in containers with tongs. The windows overlook the whole of the main high st. of Truro. You can have an afternoon tea, with dainty little sandwiches & cakes on a three tier cake stand, or you can have just an ordinary sandwich. It's not really posh, just different. And of course "Tregothnan tea".
