Rambling Rosie and Rusty the Owl

Rambling Rosie and Rusty the Owl

Yesterday I cut the remaining flowers off the shrub roses and brought some indoors. But this one has been given a reprieve (being a rambler, she doesn't need to be pruned this year). So pretty to have a few to enjoy.

And a Christmas tree.....do you decorate it?

It has Solar lights Linda. Nothing else as the field mice will come and ‘investigate’. Then they come up the walls and under the roof and end up squished in traps in my loft. So I try not to attract them!

When we lived at the Lodge a mouse used to reside in the stone wall of the house every winter. They also liked the stone walls in the garden to live in too.

They are so cute. I hate killing them but they gnaw at the wiring. We had to laugh...I keep a jar of peanut butter in the loft to replenish the traps and noticed recently that they had gnawed the label off the jar trying to get at it! Their sense of smell is amazing! Tiny scraps of paper on the floor beside the jar...so funny!

Cute, but a pain, they come in every year!!

We sometimes get Woodmice in the shed and they chew off the bristles from the paintbrushes to make their nests with.

Yeah...they are like goats! They will take anything! 😀
