Wonderful , the centre makes me think of a Cockle when it's cooked and the shell has just opened , except the shell isn't white .....

15 Nov, 2011

since it wasnt me that first mentioned food [this time] now i will tell you the yellow reminded me of egg yolk ~ perfectly cooked!!!

15 Nov, 2011

Seafood Thai Green Curry tomorrow - thanks Amy!

It is the colour of the yolk of a very fresh egg isn't it!

15 Nov, 2011

That absolutely brilliant!

15 Nov, 2011

Thanks Sheilar!

15 Nov, 2011

thai green curry is excellent.

15 Nov, 2011

I had to cook for some veggies once, so did Thai Green with egg and potatoe which was actually rather good. I feel a blog coming on.......

15 Nov, 2011

15 Nov, 2011

15 Nov, 2011

Please stop talking about FOOD it's making my mouth water !!! I've been watching Jamie Oliver cooking dishes with wonderful spices from around the world ,I desperately wanted to try every dish and then you start ... I'm Hungry :o(

15 Nov, 2011

I must remember that one. That and sausage they can't resist. You shouldn't tempt me cos now I will have to cook bacon every time a veggie calls in!

15 Nov, 2011

Um, correct me if I am wrong but did you not first mention cockles Amy??!

15 Nov, 2011

I'm not!
Liver casserole followed by Sharon fruit........

15 Nov, 2011

Not what?

Liver casserole ok but not mt favourite, gravy with onions very good though!

Sharon fruit very nice but don't bother with prickly pear - it ought to come with a health warning!

15 Nov, 2011

Very pretty....the leaves are lovely too.....

16 Nov, 2011

I wasn't hungry Sticki.

Thanks Amblealice - there is a very nice variety (Alba I think) with bright green leaves too.

O.k Sticky ,you got me there :o) I do like liver and onions with some lovely mashed pots.

16 Nov, 2011

Horseraddish mash, stilton mash, Colemans english mustard mash..............
And what about mash made from baked potatoes!

16 Nov, 2011

ooooh so yummy, can and have eaten a whole pot of mashed or riced potatoes with butter on top!!! brilliant with gravy or just on its own.
that stilton mash sounds very good as do the others, another thing you can do is dry fry some cumin seeds and sprinkle over the top of the mash

16 Nov, 2011

i believe the national dish is now tikka masala which is very nice but i do like bangers and mash.

16 Nov, 2011

That's a thought. Or a mix of cumin and fennel seeds even.......

Curry and mash is actually very nice!

16 Nov, 2011

i doubt there is anything that doesnt go with mash. lovely stuff ~ no doubt what britain was built on!!!
have you tried 'kestrel' potatoes ~ really good!!

curry and chips are also good!!

16 Nov, 2011

And if you make too much mash there are fishcakes!

16 Nov, 2011

oh yes!!! thai fish cakes with chilli sauce are extra good.

salmon fish cakes especially good.

ooooh braised steak and onions ~ love it. how about some of the nice mash meanie has suggested ~ with horseradish or stilton!!!
the bought lemon meringue pies from W........s is also good but i really like a home made one ~ not that i have made one for a while

im making mushroom soup and a mushroom focaccia for tea ~ might put a photo on if it works, looking good so far!!

meanie is a real foodie too bloomer ~ he makes great chilli ~ well the recipe was excellent ~ i assume meanie makes it well!!!

16 Nov, 2011

All this food talk..sounds like.. Ready Steady Cook..i have just fed Hubby with a braised steak casserole with swede mash..i had some of the mash too without the steak.. it was lovely...love your pic Meanie..:o)

16 Nov, 2011

I would prefer mash,Sticki..but my daughter and my OH do not like it creamed with butter..in fact, she has never eaten it,or a spread type ,ever..only when it has to be added in recipes, such as cakes etc.. I just can't be bothered to 'faff' about tonight..as also
doing little sausages for Thomas,as he isn't really in to chewing meat yet....I do just add milk to cream them for a Shepherds or Cottage pie,but even then, she isn't keen ! grrr...Kids !! Lol.
I wouldn't mind that chilli recipe,Sticki..could you send me a PM,or e-mail..if you still have my address..please ?

16 Nov, 2011

ooooh swede mash that sounds really good.
obviously steak is the meat today!!!

16 Nov, 2011

meanie put it in a blog bloomer ~ its really good.

OH wasnt keen on mash but he likes it better if i put it through the ricer instead ~ makes it lighter and much fluffier.

16 Nov, 2011

Thanks Bloomer and Joanella.
