Split-leaf-Philodendron is a large-scale ground cover at the San Diego Zoo. The fruit pictured above with ripen yellow in a couple of months and taste like pineapple. Photo Oct. 27, 2010.

From what I have heard, though, don't try to eat it too early! It can burn your mouth!

Yes, it has to be completely ripe. I've grown this plants for over 25 years...have never had a problem...except for ants getting the fruit first. :>)

Like hedgehog cactus fruit here. They are delicious! At least the one time I beat the birds to it!
