Yes, they're very bright orange! : > )

They are extremely hardy plants which go dormant most of the year...then in February they start to grow and bloom until around June...then back into their dormancy.

Yes, one of our prettiest native flowering plants next to Fremontia californica! They grow/bloom wild everywhere in winter to very early summer.
