Whats the best bargain you've had?

Ive just been told of a “not to miss bargain” one of the expats had here in france,

Now france is known for the summer “Brocante” street sales (carboot sales) And this one couple thought they’d bought a really nice trough full of bedding plants and in full bloom,
They paid for it and arranged to collect it with their van and trailer after the brocante was over as the road was all blocked off to vehicles until the days selling was over,

The sellers agreed and said they’d help roll this concrete trough onto the trailer “No problem”,
It was paid for and that was a bargain to be had,
Or so the buyers thought.

5PM arrived and the buyers nudged through the crowds to get to their fantastic buy only to find an empty space,
the sellers had gone,

but the buyers thought not to worry we’ll drag the trough up the ramps and onto the trailer “No problem”

The wife said “OH look these men have come to help”
As her husband pulled & pulled to try and get the trough up the ramps,

“Not far to go now he informed his wife”

you could say halfway up and halfway down the ramp.

The help arrived "only they we’re not helping this couple take the trough away,
the police arrived and the couple explained they’d bought this trough of a lovely family,
The police along with the mayor explained they we’re about to take the villages one of three troughs away,
It didnt belong to any “nice family” it belonged to the village and had done for years.

Some bargains are not to be had!
