Tuesday at the garden

Busy morning at the garden, more planting and also OH weeded out and fed more of the raspberry canes, they are showing signs of flowering so we need to start tying them in.
I watered the polytunnel and planted more lettuce in there. Cabbages planted and protected from the birds with netting. The sweet pea seeds I planted were showing signs of being pot bound so I took the moss and weeds out of the top of one of the metal containers by the fruit cage, put in some more compost mixed with some plant food, put in canes and planted the sweet peas, we are forecast a frost so they are protected with some fleece. By the time we go again the should be ready to have the fleece taken off.
The jasmine has started to die off at the top but the bottom is now in full bloom so still the wonderful scent in the greenhouse.

You are going to eat well this year Csarina. I was off to a Suntrap Gardening Club visit to the Frog lady in Fountainhall Road last evening. As I was driving through the meadows (park in Edinburgh) it started to hail which turned to snow. By the time I reached the garden the lawn was white. As members walked on it it started to form patches of ice. This was in the centre of a very built up area of Edinburgh.

Its a case of gardening between showers isn`t it, I put my beans out because they were in danger of keeling over and tangling up, also covered them though, like you I`m hoping they wont need the cover for long...

Nice to see your raspberries flowering. Mine are too, and they are my favourite fruits :o)
I hope there won't be any frost ....
