Summer At Last?

Perhaps, or perhaps just a relatively warm day. Whatever, it’s best to make the most of it. Today we had to prepare the Garden for a Magazine photographer (Scottish Publication) so I thought I’d take the opportunity to take some photos of my own. I have to admit, I am so proud of what we have achieved here so far, and so thrilled at how well everything (well, most things!) are growing. It’s a lovely thing to watch a garden develop. We lived in our last home for 7 years, and in October we will have been here for 6. Grows On You members watched as I created the last garden and some were surprised that I wanted to leave it. But I’m so glad we did. What we have here is so much lovelier.

Thank you for looking in :)

Nice garden! It looks like your little buddy is ready for his closeup.

It was definitely the right move for you Karen . . . It’s obvious to us how very much you have enjoyed making your new space so lovely. You have put your heart and soul into your garden and it shows 🙂 x

Wylie, she was sniffing the air. Its tough to get a good shot of her. She has no interest whatsoever in publicity shots! :)

Thank you Sheila. Thats very true!

Well no wonder you are proud of it. Its worthy of featuring in a posh garden magazine - really its absolutely beautiful.

Still tidier than my front room!
Lovely pup too. She's a stocky little thing? I've been completely torn the last few years about getting another dog. Felt so close to the last one I know I couldn't repeat that friendship. Feisty jack Russell to chase off cats & squirrels would be nice though 😊

And so you should be pleased Karen, it's a beautiful space, and although your other garden was lovely, this garden has a beautiful borrowed background, which makes it even more special, I imagine the photographer was in his element!! ┌(・。・)┘♪

Stunning 😍

Thank you Steragram :)

Darren, that’s Molly. She is 13 now. Such a character. The stubbornest, most disobedient, challenging, feisty little thing on 4 legs!

Angela, yes, its all about the borrowed landscape here. We have quite a busy little road, but that is the only downside. Even that has its advantage....it is very easy for us to get into town. The photographer seemed to enjoy it. He was working with film I think. Old school. He’s sending me the pics. :) can’t wait to see them!

Linda, your garden is like a lovely secret garden with lots of places to discover and ig trees etc. A totally different but equally loved space!

We love our gardens, Karen.....that is what matters most. Your pond is maturing nicely too.The borrowed landscape looks beautiful in your photos and your planting is wonderful.
We are due some more nice weather next week.
Let us know when the magazine comes out.

Oh, I think its Scottish Garden or something. Its more an online publication I thin Linda. I haven’t had any contact from the magazine, just the photographer. I’ll let you know if I hear anything though!

Beautiful pics again Karen! Your lawned areas are just perfect too! Some really lovely planting and colours. Fantastic pond!

6 years!!! Really that long but look what you’ve achieved in such a short time. I remember the blank canvas when you moved in and you working through the first winter to begin the creation of this dreamy garden. It’s fab Karen.

Thanks Kate, very kind.

Dawn, thank you. Its lovely that I have friends who have shared the development of the garden and really understand all the work that we have done to get it to this stage.

Karen, your garden is outstanding and to think you did it on your own.you must be so proud.
Gardens really do lift your mood, you could just sit and look at them all day(when you get the chance that is)

Sitting looking at it today would have made me cry Gerardine! All my roses wrecked in heavy rain and wind. But yes, thank you so much! I know what you mean. :)

Karen I have followed you through both and really enjoyed watching you create two wonderful gardens, so different though, I did love your previous one but have to say this one is the crème de la creme .. You have every right to feel proud of what you have achieved, it really is beautiful and would be even without the stunning views......

Lovely garden you have there, Karen! I liked your pond! Unfortunately there's not much room on a balcony for one!

29 Jun, 2019

You could have a half barrel balcony...but the frogs would find it hard going to get there!

I'd never leave Karen lol x
