This was our favourite place to visit,a 10 minute ferry ride across the lake..so lovely,we went twice,so this will be the longest blog,as there was so much to see…so firstly, the view from the ferry..

Arrived, ready for walking..its a bit of a climb up one of the typical Italian narrow streets, but lots to look at ..and a coffee break, when we got to the top !

Suitably refreshed,we walked downwards again,on
another quaint street, with the shops..very upmarket, but lovely to look at..

This is the main square, with the church and bell tower.

and back to the promenade,to admire the view, backacross the Lake.

Right..best foot forward..upwards again! This time,we explored the other side of this pretty town..and my favourite..even though we walked further than we intended..and it was very warm..you always wonder what is round the next corner, don’t you ?but we were glad we did..at least it was flat, and wait till you see what I found !

Bottle brush plant.

I don’t know what this is,but it was lovely..I’m sure someone will know..

This is what we came across..a Garden centre!..
Of course I had to go in..loved all these pots…:o)

..and all the bedding plants..just like ours..

..except for these Lemon trees..

This was next door..the most beautiful well kept cemetry,I have ever seen..The stonework was amazing, and all the flowers were so fresh, and not a weed in sight. It seemed to be a very affluent area, judging by the quality of everything…and what an enterprising business person,to have a garden centre, next to it !

Onwards a bit more, and we turned off on to a road which led down to the other side of the lake.Russell wanted to go down to the bottom, but I declined, and sat on a wall..enough of up and down hills for me,so sat looking at this lovely house and garden..I wondered how much it would cost to buy ? no chance!..

Maybe this ?

Not even this!

Time to walk back to the ferry now,and watching the traffic, while we were waiting..some traffic !

Back to the hotel, and seeing as you have walked such a
long way,in the heat,I think you deserve a chill out time by the pool, and a cool drink. Then you can come back for
your evening meal..my treat..:o)

Come on in..

Just sit anywhere..rhere is plenty of room..

Feel better now ? Good.!
Next time,I will take you to the other two places, that were easily reached ,via the brilliant ferry service..Hope you have enjoyed it,so far..

That was just lovely, Bloomer, the scenery is spectacular! I've just been reading about all the 'stars' who have homes in that area, and guess you didn't bump into any of them then? I would love to sit and gaze across to the mountains you show in pic 6 ... I can but dream! Can't remember if, when we went to Switzerland, many moons ago when I was fifteen, we went to Lake Como and saw Hummingbirds ... seems to ring a bell. Thanks for sharing your holiday. : o )))

Thanks Shirley, glad you enjoyed it...Saw George Clooney's house..he used to go around on his bike all the time he was there..but sadly, the media stopped all that..I was going to pop round and ask"can you ride tandem"? [remember that ad?) ..Lol...Didn't hear anything about hummingbirds, while we were there..but we watched a Swallow building a nest,on the corner of our hotel..amazing !
Thought you would enjoy it,Yorkshire..lovely relaxing place..and the beer was free..as you will remember ! Lol.
By the way,Russell said it was ok in the bar,so must have improved since you were there..not the bar..still a bit dingy..I meant the beer..as Ralph said it was better at the pool bar...to be honest,he was on white rum and coke, most nights !

Glad you enjoyed it Annella..we were seated in that little dining room one night,as I think it is kept for groups, and as an overspill..it felt very grand in there..:o)
