Have always loved Daphne’s and over the years bought a few and lost a few, mostly reorganising sections of the garden, they don’t like me moving them.
Saw the following advertised and said what the h—- thinking with a top man on GOY he might be able to help me keep them alive.
So here they are looking nice and healthy at the moment.

They are
Daphne cneorum ‘Variegata’
Daphne x ‘Susannae Tichborne’
Daphne cneorum veriotil
Daphne x’Schlyten’July Glow
one is going straight into a trough not decided on the others yet.

I like the small daphnes. I have never heard of any of those you have bought but they all look very healthy. I don't think they like being moved so taking care in planning where to have them is a good idea. Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to future updates on their progress.

They look very healthy, I bought 3 Daphnes this year called Eternal Fragrance, they are taking ages to grow and not any bigger since I planted them, I have had 1 or 2 flowers though, perhaps I should not have done this but have planted Ivy and a few other flowers amongst them in the tubs till they start to grow so I hope I dont lose them.

Love them, never done very well with them, like Marion bought Eternal Fragrance, it is in a pot not moved an inch, saw Andrews plant and it is enormous......good luck with yours, look well grown healthy plants. Keep us all posted please.

Generally they do not recommend keeping them in pots any length of time , for them to dry out is fatal.
Not that they would have had much problem up to now this year.
One UK grower keeps there stock in pots on cappilery matting.
Don't know what eternal Fragrance is but for sure has a type name that would be a good guide to it's requirements, if they have been purchased from G.C they may well have been grafted so watch out for suckers at the base and remove them, the leaves probably would be coarser.

Daphne x susannae 'Tichborne' and Daphne x schlyteri are both great varieties. They are easier ones to grow than Daphne cneorum but cneorum is still a very nice daphne. I just kill that one a lot haha. The daphnes you just got look very healthy, I have never heard of the 'July Glow' variety but it is an excellent hybrid of Daphne cneorum and Daphne arbuscula.
Daphne x transatlantica 'Eternal fragrance' is a great daphne and easy to grow too. I have one called 'Jim's Pride' that is almost identical. It may be slow at first but will grow on quickly when established. Also a very easy one from cuttings. I think the trick to success with daphnes is a gritty well-drained mix and careful watering, especially the first month or two. They also grow much slower and more open in pots, they really fill in well once in the ground for a bit.
Good luck with the cuttings, you should post some pictures of them!

The Daphne cneorum 'Variegata' has nice variegation, I didn't notice how bright it was when I saw it earlier but it looks brighter than Carol Mackie.
