FIVE WEIRS WALK - SHEFFIELD

These are a few shots taken along the Five Weirs Walk in between Sheffield and Rotherham. It follows a canal along from the centre of Sheffield and I am not sure where the end is,but I think it’s just into Rotherham.

Yes great pics but the one of the boat is very interesting, That is what I call a real boat unlike the 'plastic' ones of today. I'd love to see her and chat with her owner.

They are great pictures Bellflower, the Parkgate part of the canal is near where I work and the Swans seem to favour this part, its a wonderful sight when they take flight.

Thank you all for the lovely comments, glad to hear I have some friends on GOY so near who know the area. I live in Aston but I work oat the Arena on Broughton Lane, near to the area in the photos. You wouldn't believe it was once the heart of the Sheffield Steel Industry now, would you? Have a good day all Off to work in a wee while.

Heron if we are passing that way again I will try and get some closer shots of the boat, and knowing Geoff he will have a word with owner and get some info.

True, I worked at Hadfields where the Viaduct is now, and they were happy days. We had some real characters in that office I can tell you!

Thanks Bellflower, Old boats like old houses have something about them, we just can't make 'em any more. Actually we don't seem to make anything anymore, I don't know how we ballance the books nowadays.
