I went on Google Earth last week to find they had updated my area. These are the clearest shots I’ve seen of my house and I’m in the garden!!
Taken Sunday May 24th 2009, approx 4.30 by the shadows. I am at the bottom of the garden. You can see the brown towel I use to kneel on when weeding and my shadow.

My garden and the field behind

Back to Earth shot of the border I was working on at the time, this photo was taken about 2 weeks later

Hurry up summer (((-:

There's something seriously wrong with a society who've nothing better to do but to spy on eachother.

A few years ago, unknown to me, someome knocked at my door, showing me two framed pictures of my house and garden and asked me if I would like to by them, I was surprised, as I was not aware someone was above me while I was in the garden, and have taken a picture only to sell it to me. I bought one, but did not buy the other. I did not even question the person about the other picture. It was a very close and detailed picture of my house and garden.

We have aerial photography going on all the time by property developers looking for big houses with large gardens. They then make a high offer to the owner, sometimes purchase then demolish it to build flats !
Planning notices round this area all the time.
A lovely house, set back from the road, screened by mature trees is currently being demolished right next to our village church. I really could get on my soap-box on this issue.

one of my clients had someone offer a high price for her house which id huge and a corner plot but she said no as she suspected flats herself, not good

google earth caught me in the garden 2 years ago but then up graded as i developed my section.
as the new pic was just before we built at the back of our house there is only blank space and weeds.
so next upgrade will show 2 more granny flats.
i often used google earth when reading some adventure story that mentions a place and it adds illustration to the story

We have an aerial photo on our wall, also purchased at the door, the person selling turned out to be known to our oldest daughter through work, so he got a shock and we got it cheaper......I dont like this big brother type world but its s`posed to be safer !!!!!!!!! and can`t stop it anyway....Progress they call it, I call it spying but I haven`t got anything to hide in my garden anyway, lol.........
Annella your garden looks lovely

Did you know that almost all small aircraft owners belong to 'Skywatch' ostensibly to help arrest crime but I call it intrusion. My niece was sunbathing when she saw a man with a telephoto lens hanging from a helicopter.

I bought an ariel photo of my house just after I moved in and I'm in the garden again. That time I was digging the area near the garage.I like It because It reminds me of how the garden started off.
Thank you all for the nice comments and Heron I think you mean the Solanum Glasnevin.

Ah that's the one though I prefer the white version even though it's a bit tender.

We have several photos of our house and garden and even shots of the village but they were presents from a friend who has a light aircraft and thought he would take a look at what we were doing. We were so happy with the first one he gave us that every now and again he took another for us, to update our progress. He is dead now. I did not know you could use google earth to capture photos. I have used it to see my cousins homes in Australia. How did you get that lawn looking so good. You have a lovely garden.

Annella what a beautiful garden it's a credit to you Any tips to get a lawn like that??.has it taken years to get it like that, We seem to have more and more weeds each year, perhaps we've been spending to much time sorting the flower beds out ,

I'm the same with the flower beds Nannymargaret, I spot weed the lawn with lawn weed killer(kills weeds not the grass) or hand weed when I get the time which is not often! If you get time look at my before and after blog, It really says it all :-))))))
