After my earlier blog asking for advice on overstuffed borders, I thought it would be interesting to show it in full throttle!

View down the garden

And here are some random plants I am enjoying at the moment:

Kniphofia ‘Mango Popsicle’.

Red monarda.

A favourite alstro.but hard to keep the slugs off it!

Cephalaria gigantea with friend.

Dahlia coccinea with friends, grown from seed last year.

looks lovely and still spy a little bit of room to get some more plants in there :) :), do like the daisy's, think mine are just past their best now but when the sun is shining of them with a little bit of breeze they look really good

Looks like you've taken a lot out,Ang?The daisies do make a statement.

Yes, Davey, we have lots of daisies but most will come out in a week or two: asters, rudbeckia, and eurybia, plus more leucanthemums.
M'land, we've mostly cleared out the bottom bed and moved plants to give them more space to grow.

Are you pleased with the result? It does look different from the initial photos.

Happier with the results in that bed. There are bigger shrubs in that one.
We have to clear through the others later in the season.

when I saw the photos I thought I can see bare soil so not overstuffed at all but if you have been taking plants out.........

some [actually all] beautiful plants Anget

You've a beautiful garden Ange, very pretty borders, and you can see all your plants, I should take a leaf out of your book..haha! Love the Monarda and Lucifer montbretia, such vibrant colours. Lovely open aspect too..

I rather like the over stuffed look! So colourful and a lovely variety of plants .

Thank you all. Yes, I like the individual plants too. It's the 'putting them together' that I'm not so clever at.
I hadn't realised, until all the newer plantings came out this year, that we had got so many red, orange and yellow plants out there. Must be unconscious bias!!

Your garden is picturesque as always, Anget. I do love the arches with the pretty, climbing flowers. The crocosmia on the first pic is vivid, very striking!

Thanks, Kate. I do think the arches have made all the difference to a flat space.

Beautiful, I have flowers starting on my kniphofia but the slugs/snails eat through the stalks I have yet to find out how they will fare but wasn't good last year, also waiting on a red Monarda to flower :-))

It's my alstroemerias they're after here, Daylily. They've been a real nuisance this year, worse than ever before. Even the greenhouse has not been immune, but at least I can use pellets safely in there!

Hi Anget, strange isn't it, its frustrating when I see other kniphofias in full glory and mine are not, same for your alstroemeria they do nibble mine but not to the extent you can tell much, I sprayed with garlic but don't think it did a lot last year but may try again :-))

I do love your garden Anget ! Mine is so full now , but I too like the "overstuffed" look !
Was it you that wanted to see my painting of the poppy field as I have only just found it and now can't remember who wanted to see it !

Thank you for your comments, Rose.
It wasn't me who asked about the picture, sorry! I'd be happy to view it, though!

18 Jul, 2020

Well, Anget if my camera will take a good picture, I will put it on here!
