Spring in The Alnwick Garden

Following the visit to the flower show, we had a lovely browse rounnd The Alnwick Garden…hope you enjoy the visit too……

Scillas in the grass…..sorry they don’t show up very well……a distant shot of The Pavillion.

The Cherry Orchard……there have been 180,000 approx….tulip bulbs planted under the cherry trees….alongside daffodils, crocus and scilla…..a similar amount will be planted over the next year or so. The variety is “The Madam”. The gardening volunteers planted most of these late last year.

Hopefully the cherry blossom will be open next weekend ready for the Dedication of the orchard. There was some blossom last year, but it was affected by a late frost. We are hoping for a better show this year, as it is the orchard’s first full year after planting.

Brillant pics......Looks as though a LOT of hard work has been put into keeping it so nice .I must express to everyone who reads about "Alnwick Gardens" and the Castle that they are Beautiful, and MUST be seen to really enjoy a Great day out.:-))
