Hi YDD good to see you back, hope all is well with you and yours.....love some of those ideas, has certainly given me one for a divider, we are taking up the decking so we need something to put between the two gardens as a screen, like picture 6 and pic 9 especially the very large bamboos, planted up in large planters.......food for thought, look forward to next set of pics, oh and the last one is the best of the lot lol

Glad I read this, was just thinking about a pergola on the decking yesterday. This one look great, without all those curvy and shapely cross beams - I've sticking this on my favs as a reference.
I just love that side garden - that I'll keep for reference too :)

That's kind of you Sticki...you should see it right now. I've been pruning and removing the non-flowering Wisteria...it's all lying on the patio waiting for daylight so I can get it finished, looks a total bomb site! :)

Hi everyone and a happy new year to you Sandra, i guess my minds turning to gardening, yayyyy. im going surfing soon for more ideas..
I love that pergola scottish so simple and modern but stunning too, will look even better when the climbers get going.
Hiya karen, and here's me thinking your garden was finished hahaha. Yeah go for the TF, either keep it in a pot to overwinter in your greenhouse or plant it and use fleece in the winter, they can take low temperatures to -13 and like shade, mine get sunshine and shade and plenty water lol..
Thanks Hollyeves and DD, i love the bamboo screen but im not sure up here, i have one black bamboo which i nearly dug out last year as it just sat there doing nothing, after about 6 years i got fed up but gave it one last chance, i dont know if it was all the rain last year but it flew up, lovely bright green leave's so im now loving it :))
thanks everyone for your comments..

Had similar with the back bamboo youngster, but watch out, if it takes off its a runner! Thanks, there's a tree fern in the GC right now and every time I go it pleads to come home with me! I am creating a new shade garden to replace my food beds, so perfect for there. I will take a photo for you Sticki!

K I have my eyes on a beautiful tree fern, OH went to get me one for Christmas but they were not up to much, but we have seen another one it is not potted and we understand you need to put at least 12 inches in the ground? we already have two babies but cannot wait for ever for them to grow, we might be cheeky and ask the GC to keep it over the winter, as it is freezing here......

16 Jan, 2013

Couldn't you squeeze it in to your conservatory A? That's my plan!

16 Jan, 2013

You could just lie it down behind your furniture DD it would just be a log, mind i would wait a while yet, i would have to feel those knuckles...

16 Jan, 2013

Such good ideas Ydd. I love the trampoline idea, the watering cans and in fact looking back at the photo's I love them all.

17 Jan, 2013
