Hi daisy...just passing through......

Theyare looking lovely, I think you have to remove the tiny ones with sharp scizzors so that all the strength goes into the others....what variety is it? Dessert or for wine.....

They are looking good Daisy. I agree it has been very quiet on here lately, hope they are coming back soon, but probably out in their gardens.

You know I don't comment much in blogs Dee but, congratulations to you. My grapes, on both vines are still a lot smaller than those. Are they outdoor or have you cheated?

Very good Youngdaisy, I lost mine two winters back, the birds always ate my grapes so I guess they miss them more than I do.
I`ve been busy with decorating tasks indoors and also been away for a few days but have noticed there seem to be a lot of people missing lately, I hope it means they are enjoying the great outdoors, funny weather here today, its sunshine and very heavy showers so its in and out like a yoyo...

There you are, hahaha, This vine was £5 from a garden-centre, about 3ft when i bought it, just said vitis black grape, so im assuming it has seeds, its grew over the Pergola and has a few bunches on it, i bought a himrod dessert seedless £20, hardy for up here and its grew to about 2ft! if that, so no chance of grapes this year, but ever the optomist im hoping for sweet grapes in the heatwave next year :)))))
Yeah john, both outdoor.

I didn't realise that they were outdoors....well done!

Thanks Pamg, i done my research before buying, hence the himrod but the cheap black grape was just an experiment really, also i liked the idea of the leave's turning red and orange in Autumn..

Congrats Dee! How lovely, I am very envious! :D

Fair pleased you have got some grapes there YDD....isn't if funny how the cheaper things sometimes perform better than the expensive fussy types. I have a little Acer that cost me £3 from Tesco last year and it's the best of the lot!!!
I've been busy painting and decorating so not on as often but have noticed how quiet it has been - weather has been too good for all to be sitting at their computers I think :)

Thanks Karen, The grapes are really tiny lol.
Scottish i bought 3 tiny acers for 20p each at wilkinsons, They looked dead but i could see little green buds, one died but the other 2 are doing brilliant potted up, I have high hopes for next year, i also bought 2 £3 acers last year from Morrisons and they are a good size now, No we dont have to pay more to get better :)))
Hope your decorating is finished, we have to start ours soon but not in this lovely weather..

I shall also be decorating again soon....can you believe it. I just finished doing the whole house a few months ago and OH has gone and found a flat for me to do up! Not best pleased about it, homes under the hammer has a lot to answer for!

Wow! amazing considering the awful weather we've had. Years ago a friend of mine had a grape vine, the roots were in the ground outside, but the vines grew inside her greenhouse. This variety must very hardy, I wonder what it will do in a good summer? let us know what you do with them:-)

If they are anything like mine Dee you will have to follow my example and feed them to a neighbour's parrots.
