Photoshopped design idea for my garden, Oooo excited..

Hi everyone (wave) I hate january, and febuary, booooring, im not me without gardening :) Ive been shopping online and in the real world, got loads of bargains this weekend at B&Q and Wilkinsons. Spent about £70 for about £250 worth of plants and gardening stuff :)))
Anyway im a member on an exotic forum and there’s a couple of guys who love to photoshop, At the bottom of my garden is my red patio, (quarry tiled floor) beside the horrible ivy, i know i moan every year about it, i dont really do anything down there but ive wanted to, theres a small border with a cotoneaster, hosta’s, brunnera etc (there coming out) if i have spare plants i usually just stick them down there, also 4 small fruit trees in pots, I stuck a pic up of this area on the site and heres a couple of PS ideas :))))

The before pic i put up..

The first design.. I like it, opened up the area..

Then, this was put up. I LOVE it, its a go, timber priced, plants bought, and ideas spinning in my mind.
what do you think :)

When i showed hub he said, Ill build it if you grow a grapevine up it, i said OK!!!!!

Yes, definitely! My friend has pergola like this. She painted it dark Aubergine colour. It's stunning. She has an evergreen blackberry and honeysuckle growing up it, but a grapevine....brilliant...I just love grapevines. There are some lovely ones on here too, so you could see what does well in the North. I love it Daisy and you will love sitting there when it is done!

Just imagine when it's finished. A lovely secluded little spot where you can enjoy a long, cool drink of a summer's evening ... bliss!

The last photo with the pergola is definately the way to go ydd. - How clever is that? - being able to mock it up on PS? It will give you more privacy too. Did you see the Love your Garden episode on small gardens and how to create privacy - well you dont need to really, you are bursting with ideas! - thanks for sharing. Im just going off to look at your wacky ideas blogs - really enjoying them.

Yeah me too. I keep them on the V+ box to watch during the winter when we have no garden programes at all to watch. Shame I cant copy it for you. I dont have a DVD recorder!

Oh that is the way to go, we do really well with or grapes on our pergola, love it with all your exotics.....what is the plant growing on the right, is it on a fence it looks like ivy?

Hi DD, i remember you and Dawnsaunt encouraging me last year to get a grapevine, you set the seed (get it lol ) in my mind, especially when you said there were cold hardy varieties, really looking forward to starting this project :)
Yeah the awfull Ivy, stuck with it as it was planted in the neighbours garden, no point in us digging it out our side, it would just grow through again, it looks good when i trim it 2 or 3 times a year..puh hehe..

It makes a good background though.

That looks like a brilliant idea. I love the pergola idea with a grapevine growing up it. Some very talented people on PS there. Roll on good weather so you can get stuck in eh :)

Hi Ydd ... just catching up on GoY ... we have a Grapevine 'Brandt' growing up and over the pergola ... wasn't too sure at first but really love it in the Summer and Autumn now ... when we ever have a hot and sunny day (remember those?) it's the perfect place to sit and cool down ... :o)))
