HELP FROM MY HUSBAND

Hi everyone,
my husband has asked me to ask you lot out there about his tomatoe plants, he grew them from seed and they are beautiful plants, but the problem is, and he does not know why, they are full of flowers but he is not getting any fruit behind them, its quite soul destroying for him, to date we have counted just 4 tomatoes, he feeds them twice a week and keeps them well watered, has anyone any idea what the problem could be, and what he can do.
on behalf of my OH, thank you,

give the stems a tap/ shake as and when he passes, the pollen floats around and pollinates the other flowers, it just sounds like lack of pollination..

Thanks from me too Surreylad, it's good to know.....we have been eating loads of tomatoes from our plants but it took them longer than our normal.

cant help there val..... but hope you get lots more...

I was always told to tickle tomato plants with a feather, thus spreading the pollen.

I take a soft paint brush round the flowers. same idea. lots of pollination equals lots of tomatoes.

dont let them get to dry either as the dryness will cause the developing fruit to drop off.

I give mine a good shake daily and always water over all the plants as well as watering at the bottom of my plants....

It is still early,Yorkshire, and we haven't had a lot of sunshine or warmth really.I haven't grown any this year, but I was always told not to feed till the first fruits are about as big as your thumbnail, only once a week...and not to water the foliage at all.I did used to take the lower leaves off to get more ventilation though.I would just wait,as I'm sure they will come..mine were always later in the summer ..are they outside,or in a greenhouse? I mainly grew 'Tumbler'types in pots, but have done other ones in a plastic growhouse..good luck..:o)

Now have a very vivid pic of your OH in my mind dressed especially, for tickling, spraying and shaking toms, gave me a chuckle.
With our flipping weather its no wonder things are slow, my toms are filling out nicely but still very slow in ripening, bananna skins going in greenhouse next week..
I `m sure it thinks its April, rain showers and sunshine here again, garden doesn`t know whether its coming or going.......

I would have loved to see you in your punk outfit Tet, bet you looked a picture, my OH does like a tickle and shake Lin, weather been raining on and off all day today, and the forecast for next week is awful.
