About me

I moved to my present house seven years ago.The house is a semi on a corner site and, to me, the garden seems huge. Three quite large areas which were all lawn when we arrived but now have perennial borders. Never had a garden before so it's a totally new experience for me with a lot of trial and error. My husband mows the lawns but the planting is down to me. Like most other people my age (72 this year)there are times I don't get out in the garden as often as I should. Bad back, sore knees or just plain tired, lots of reasons really.
We enjoy walking, still go camping, take an interest in wildlife and are pleased that, since we planted more shrubs and trees in the garden and also put out a varied supply of food, we are now getting lots of birds visiting us. Last year brought siskin, redpoll, goldfinches and reed bunting for the first time. We won't mention the sparrowhawk who comes to sit on the fence. Don't have to tell you that he sits there on his own until he gets fed up and flies off, giving the regular birds the chance to come back and feed. That's all folks !
