I live in Dublin and over the last few years with the advent of arthritis have turned my garden from lawn etc to almost all hard landscaping and rely on plants in pots for the colour etc. Unfortunately, after the winter we have just experienced I did lose quite a few favourites so it is back to the drawing board! But then that is what gardening is all about...constant change.
