HOT HOT HOT

No this time I’m not talking about the weather. I just had to sit down and write about my peppers. I am so excited about having my pepper plants putting on so much fruit, I have picked 2 cayennes and have 3 more ready to be picked. I have 8 jalapenos that are ready and can be picked anytime now. Last year I got a late start and only got a handfull of each, so this year I tripled the number of plants I put in and now they are just going to town! I have always loved Hot peppers, and make a lot of very spicy food for my family. I even decorated my kitchen with a red and green peppers theme, I have everyday china with peppers on it and glassware with peppers on it and I even have a birdhouse shaped like a jalapeno pepper. My kitchen curtains and chairpads and potholders and even my teapot cozy, I made all out of fabric with peppers on it. Not to mention all the tea towels and placemats and napkin rings and aprons etc. that my family and friends have given me over the years. I even have pepper shaped refridgerator magnets. My favorite foods are with chili peppers and I have developed a few of my own recipes for spicy foods over the years. Stuffed Jalapenos, and Spicy Crab Dip and Chili Verde and even a spicy tropical Habanero pepper sauce for hamburgers. Of course it helps a lot that my husband grew up in UK and Jamaica and loves spicy food too. Curry and Jerk recipes are truly his favorite. I guess we were really meant for each other. My friends at work used to call me the chili lady, because whenever we would have a bring a dish event, usually someone’s birthday, I would bring Chili. It also doesn’t hurt that I went to schools in Texas and Southern California, Yum all that spicy mexican food! So I think it can truly be said that I am HOT!, if not in looks at least in taste!

I love my chilli peppers too - I'm growing plants from seeds I harvested last year. My newly acquired parents-in-law have chopstick rests in the shape of chilli-peppers; it sounds like they'd fit well in your kitchen :o)

My goodness, now I "know" a real-life "chilehead", lol! Absolutely wonderful! I'm still wading my way through the "Chile Pepper Encyclopedia" by expert Dave DeWitt (my gift for our recent Fathers' Day). I love reading all the history, and the recipes!!). Please keep us posted on your passion. Best Wishes!
