GARDEN TAKING SHAPE

I’ve been willing everything to burst forth in the garden and things are growing….never fast enough for me though! lol

I have sunflowers that are in bloom (here’s a piccie of one)~~~

And my clematis is doing well (just needs to gain height)~~~

The side cut-out area of the garden (mostly herbs & rockery plants)~~~

And a slightly different view of the same cut-out~~~

The next two photos are the rockery at the back of the house~~~

Side border filling out nicely in the next two photos~~~

This is the back area where we have built up the soil level and where I’ll be putting my shade-cum-rockery-cum fairy garden~~~

We’ve had rain most of the day today…makes watering the garden an easy task! Happy gardening friends :)

Doing great J. What about that clem eh? beauuuutiful! Think I saw a couple of Carnoustie plants in there too! ;)

Yes, Karen...you are right....:) I won't be out there today as it's very windy and rainy so can't name the plants for you. I think the 8th photo is one of them and I was looking and waiting patiently to see what colour the blooms would turn out to be...very pleased.

I think the Scottish weather has hit Merseyside...it's been impossibly wet and windy (dark too) yesterday and today. Not a bit like summer! Hope you've been getting some sunshine, Karen.

Cristina...I'll let you know the name of the clem when I'm brave enough to set foot out there...the rain is practically horizontal and relentless today!

Lots of lovely comments....thank you :) The frogs were all ones my late sister bought for me on her holidays when she came over from Canada to visit us (she loved anything froggie but then would decide they were too fragile to travel home with her, thus gifted them to me). They've been patiently waiting for garden space for a few years...glad you liked them SK. :)

Shirley, the slate was a bit of an afterthought and I'm very pleased with how I've arranged it in the rockery. It seems to lift the whole rockery and I've still got more of the slate which I will probably put in the woodland/rockery space once that is underway.

Everything has come together nicely in such a short time, Whistonlass, even if it wasn't fast enough for you :) Hope you soon get more sunny days to enjoy it.

How nice your garden is looking now after such a long wait, it's a credit to you, Well Done. Jackie :o))

Thanks ladies....it's a most enjoyable space to tend and sit in. The rain has finally let up so I'll be going out today to rescue some of our fallen sunflowers, toppled due to the amount of strong winds and rain we've had for the last two or three days. I hope nothing else is damaged!

Just need some nice dry, warm days so we can tend the lawn (it needs feeding, cutting and the edges trimmed now that we have bought a pair of long-handled clippers).

I hope summer puts in an appearance soon as I too have lots of plants to put in but I have to get rid of some more lawn first. It has been so wet it has been impossible to do anything in the garden. One of the highest suburbs of Edinburgh was flooded on Saturday. We were away for the weekend so missed it. Your garden is coming on in spite of or maybe because of all the rain. It is unbeleivable what you have achieved in such a short time. You can expect it all to be filled up with few spaces left next year.

Thanks Scotsgran. I did hear about the Edinburgh flooding...no damage in your area I hope. Yes, the garden is filling up nicely....lovin' it.

Tomorrow we are taking delivery of our promised small summer house so I'll be sure to post some photos once it is sorted out (it will be erected by evening tomorrow all being well). Very exciting addition to the garden :)

Its wonderful to see you've got everything growing away Jacquie! I can't wait to watch the rest :) ... and not a weed in sight! You must be so proud of it :) If only you could have some windchimes dangling off your fairy tree :P

No damage from water here Whiston as we are at the top of a hill.I've seen your summer house and it is a star.
