do you know which trees are growing there Wells? Is this the view from your house or did you have to drive to see it?

Seaburngirl...It is from our house. We chose our house for its views. Most of the trees are Maples, evergreen, Oaks.
We have a striped Maple which grow underneath to protect
the larger trees. After 25 years these smaller maples die back as the taller ones can take it on there own. In Vermont we have woods that are filled with the striped Maples slowly turning into compost etc. This fall has been
very unusual as the red and yellow Maples never turned color so there is a yellowish rust color from the oaks and
many trees just hanging on to their leaves.

what a wonderful view you have then. the reds are meant to develop better when the temperature drops so if you have had a mild autumn that will be partly the reason. but the oranges from the oaks are still stunning.

It is really wonderful. I am currently enjoying the Larches turning gold on the hillside here. But no sunshine to speak of this week. Its grey and showery.
