I have an allotment which is doing well although I wouldn't call myself an expert gardener.
My favourite plant is my 3 year old banana tree which this year has three large shoots growing from the mother. It is spectacular and contrasts well with my other plants. It grows to about 8ft every year and winters well with protection. I will seperate the young'uns in spring, and make a grove of bananas.
