Hello everyone, I have been keeping up with your gardens as much as possible but we have also been very busy.
Richard has now completed his first lot of treatment and his oncologist has as far as she’s concerned has signed him off. We have had meetings with his surgeon and it has been decided that they will take a biopsy of the growth in his lung. When they have his results they will make a decision which to operate on first, his lung or his bowel. We are now waiting for his appointment.
Thank you for all your messages of support and remember. ..I’m watching you lol!

Thank you so much everyone. To cap it all we've both been down with a very nasty bug this past week, although would you believe it, his nibs has managed to throw his off much quicker than I have? I still feel rather wobbly and out of sorts.
I dropped him off at the hospital this morning for his biopsy on his lung, something we're both nervous about for various reasons. So why did the nurse in charge have to be so officious when I asked if she could tell me how long he was likely to be, roughly? (This was because we'd been told everything from 2 hrs to 4 hours by different people) 'Sometime mid-afternoon' she snapped at me and didn't even have the decency to look up. As this was at 8.30 this morning I'm now back at home waiting for a phone call.

Julia, I think you just caught her at the end of her tether. I'm afraid the cracks are now showing in our 'wonderful' health service. Hopefully he won't be too long. I would have reacted exactly the same as you have...hurt and upset. But I bet there was no intent in her...just exhaustion and frustration.

When I went to collect him later in the afternoon, after what had been for him an horrendous day, he told me the rest of the staff had been lovely...and she didn't stay long after everyone had been booked in.
