After seeing Pam’s wonderful garden, she asked to see my garden, so I went out with the camera yesterday and I thought you’d like to see what I snapped.

The front boarder.

The front of the house.

A Euphorbia ‘Firecracker’ rescued from my son’s garden.

The Sedum bead planted last year, where the lawn used to be, is doing really well.

The summer baskets planted out and hardening off in the garage doorway.

The view from the garage side door into the back garden.

The new back boarder.

The revamped pond.

Waddy its beautiful! I love the teapot and cups too
Did you put a membrane under your gravel garden? If so would you recommend it?

14 May, 2014

It looks wonderful. A well tended and we'll loved garden you've got there Waddy.
Stera, can I comment Re membrane. I used one under my gravel and it's done a great job. Only surface weeds and they pull out easily. I did go to a builders merchant and bought a good quality one as I had previous experience of the thinner type from the DIY stores and found it rotted too easy. It's easy enough too cut holes for planting.

I really enjoyed having a look around Waddy, everything so neat and fresh looking, your pond and its water feature are lovely, can't beat the sound of trickling water, I find it very relaxing, the sedum bed has done well and really filled out, I couldn't find a space for anything else so what on earth are you going to do for the rest of the year, lol, your Clematis is fabulous.....

14 May, 2014

Waddy... Your garden is a treat to look at.Love the Clematis over the arch, so full of beautiful flowers. The teapot and cups are brilliant.Thank you for showing your garden.

Wow,Waddy, your garden is a real picture..love your Acer under the window, and your blue slate/gravel path..So many plants, and doesn't look to be space for anything else either..Beautiful Clem over the Arch..I like your front garden without a lawn too..thanks for sharing :o)

Oh its beautiful Waddy and you can grow much more than me!
that Acer is splendid and the beds so gloriously lush, a blast from the east wind does for anything slightly tender here......

I put it on my favorites so I can go back to it when I want to, theres so much to see

thanks for showing me xxx

Steragram; Thank you. Yes we did put down a weed suppressant membrane, before laying the chippings. My experience is if you don't you get weeds coming up all over the place.

15 May, 2014

Scottish; Many Thanks. I find a small garden is a bit like a small house. You have to keep on top of things otherwise it soon looks neglected and untidy. I quite agree with you about the quality of the membrane.

Linclass; Many thanks. You'd be surprised what I've got growing in the GH, waiting to go in the garden later in the year...keep watching this space!

15 May, 2014

Gralew; Glad you liked it.

15 May, 2014

Bloomer; Thank you, you're too kind. Keep watching, still more to go in later this year.

15 May, 2014

Pamg; That's kind of you. I'm so glad you like what you see. I love my Acer too, but it has actually got nipped this year by the late frosts. Now you see why I'd love a garden the size of yours.

Incidentally, the pink box in the back garden is Freya's little attempt at gardening along with the dozen or so Sunflowers planted into pots. The box is full of Virginia and Night Scented Stocks, in pinks and purples her favourite colours :)

15 May, 2014

I bought one as they are so lovely but it didn't make it out of the gh!

bone hardys the only way here.....we do have acers but they're trees.

I love the lush cosiness of yours but l also love the space here especially on a day like today.

thanks for sharing x
I hope Freya enjoys her little garden, when my cousin was little he pulled a seedling up to see what was underneath bless them !

Your garden is GORGEOUS Waddy - the beds in the front are a real treat. Lovely to see the photos - thanks!

Wow Waddy what a great garden you have , so many different interesting areas, love your vamped pond, the sedum bed your fantastic Clematis Arch and your Tea Pot/Cup feature, also I think I spotted very healthy looking Delphiniums? and what are the Yellow/orange Fruiting shrubs? on the picture with the Phormium/ thanks for the viewing;0))

15 May, 2014

Pamg; Oh bless! Freya is going through a phrase of picking flowers. Unfortunately she tends to yank rather than pick, which results in roots getting pulled up too sometimes!

Sheilabub; Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.

Oh WOW!!!!! your gardens stunning Waddy everything looks so healthy and well cared for wonderful :-),love your idea with the teapot and cups in fact love it all............

15 May, 2014

Hi PP. You're right, I love Delphiniums and these are in a variation of blues. The plants you're asking about are an Ornamental Orange, usually kept in the conservatory during the colder months. In front of it are two 'Winter Cherries' which I bought at Christmas instead of the usual Poinsettia. They are still going strong and growing like mad. I'm not sure where I'll put them this Christmas if they continue to thrive!

Simbad; Thank you, I'm so glad you liked it ;)

15 May, 2014

Waddy there is so much of interest to see round your garden and I love the pond, and your delphiniums are twice the size of mine.

15 May, 2014

Stoller; Thank you. Try Chicken Pellets I swear by them.

15 May, 2014

Wonderful garden, Waddy, so much to see. I love the acer and the clematis arch and your pond. I'd love to try the teapot/teacup idea (I was intrigued by them in your previous blog) - how did you fix them to the stakes?

15 May, 2014

Very interesting garden :) and your sedum bed is much better than a lawn :)

15 May, 2014

Gee19; Glad you liked what you saw. The tea pot was drilled and screwed by my clever OH. The cups and Saucers were glued using a very strong waterproof adhesive.

16 May, 2014

Hywel; Thank you and the OH would be the first to agree with you about the lawn. Mowing the lawn was the only gardening job he did lol!

16 May, 2014

Lovely front garden Waddy giving passers by lots of pleasure and ideas. A lively collection of potted plants too, congratulations and happy birthday.

17 May, 2014

Well, it's all been said really! Absolutely lovely front garden ... a credit to you! :o)

It's so lovely Waddy. There's so much interest there, and your Urn in the pond is really super! I also love your Rosemary In the border, but it's all lovely. :)

18 May, 2014

..oh, and the sedum bed looks superb. Very high quality work! :)

18 May, 2014

Thanks CK, although there's no Rosemary in the border, it's actually in a pot on the patio and not shown here, so I wonder what you've seen?

19 May, 2014

Lol! Top pic, under the conifers! Must be ceanothus then? It looks just like a Rosemary!

19 May, 2014

I might have known you'd know the Latin name. I just know it as 'California Lilac' it's now three years old and it's looking particularly great this year.
