Still some colour...

I managed to get into the garden on Sunday, mainly to sweep up the leaves from the large flowering cherry which over looks our little patch. Despite the cold, it was nice to see there’s still some colour in the garden…even if I did have to look a bit harder to find it. :D

The last two pictures are of the Cherry Tree, which I love despite the fact it drops leaves etc all over our garden. Watching it change as the seasons develop, from spring through to winter is wonderful, and it’s a great stopping off point for lots of birds, who in turn visit the our bird table.

Good to see colour in the garden at this time of year.
Nice to have the cherry tree to watch from season to season ... ideal place for birds to perch :o)

It's lovely Terra, I sit in bed each morning with my cuppa, watching it..and it's birds. My day's not the same for me if I can't have my 'Tree Fix' as my OH refers to it.

It's nice to see flowers so late in the year :o) and the autumn leaves are so colourful too. You're lucky to have that Cherry tree ...
I grow those Gourdes sometimes ... they have such interesting shapes :o)

The little gems you can still find at this time of year mean such a lot. You have some pretty plants here.

Cherries are such beautiful trees for their autumn colour and of course the blossom is just wonderful...roll on spring now! :)))

I so agree Karen, I hate the damp, dull days of winter.

I brought the Gourdes back from Germany, Hywel. Many people decorated their door steps with them, in this way. I thought they looked lovely and will definitely be trying to find some here next year.

The seeds are easy to find and grow :o) They climb like sweet peas. You can pollinate them like courgets if you like, or just leave them do it themselves :o) I've had some nice shapes and colours over the years. I think I'll try them next year too ...

Thank you, Hywel, I didn't know that. I'll now have a go at growing them myself :D

Lovely to see the colour in your garden , I have just been in mine today and the lawn is a carpet of gold and Bronze seems a shame to sweep them all up, so Im leaving them until tomorrow lol ;0)

Good luck Waddy :o)

Thank you Carole ... nice to know you're leaving the leaves for tonight. They do add a bit of colour, even though they're strewn all over the lawn :o)

Carole, you should see my back garden now...it's absolutly covered in beautiful golden leaves. As I don't have a lawn I'm tempted to leave them...:))
