Bizarre!!!

Came home from work Wed tea-time & had a wander into the garden (whilst a cup of tea was being made for me!) – noticed ‘something’ had been messing about with a newly planted container which had pansies in and a small little statue. It’s our old hot water tank and had been used for beans during the summer &, when I oiked those out, I moved it where we could see it from the kitchen window.
Basically, I registered the fact that the statue was lying on it’s side, 2 of the pansies were now resting on their sides and a lot of the soil had been heaped up into a corner. I bravely ventured closer thinking ‘that flippin’ Squirrel!’ then saw two ‘things’ sticking up through the soil – when I pulled it up it turned out to be two fingers followed by the rest of a well chewed mans gardening glove!!
Wish I’d taken a photo but we were both a bit ‘spooked’ and Stephen quicklly threw the glove into the bin (the brown recycling one of course) – we’ve since decided that it was one of the foxes simply because we can’t come up with a better solution (& we know that foxes do take articles of clothing).
Oh, and the container is looking decidedly lop-sided because the 2 pansies are def. dead and I haven’t been able to replace them yet.
Aaargh!!

Just a quick update - the fox came back! The rest of the plants in the tub got oiked out whilst, we think, it was looking for the glove. You could see it's paw prints this time & I've tried to take a photo which I'll post later. The poor tub is just churned up soil now while I try to decide what to put in it!
