Constant Wind & Rain Then Came The Sun

Travelling through the New Forest mile upon mile of flooded heathland, water flowing like a fast running stream on both sides of the road, ponies and donkey’s with knowhere to hide from the relentless wind, rain and floods

The very next day the sun shone through, no wind, no rain all was still :-)

Hi Tubby ...
... interesting pics ...
In recent weeks, the weather has been dramatic ...
tough for the wildlife to cope with the floods and storms.

Those New Forest Ponies really are tough. Hope some hay has been taken out to them.

Amazing pics Tubby . . . I know which I prefer! Warm sunshine and blue sky here too now, and I've just been sitting IN THE GARDEN with my newspaper (v. happy that my sight is fine after cataract op the other day).

They are tough D'bulley but they did look very damp, no trees to shelter under, the wind & rain was really heavy, I too hope they had someone looking out for them ~ I couldn't get them in my car as I had my sandwich box with me I wasn't prepared to share, I had pate :-)))

Thank you S'bub, I prefer the sun as well but my head doesn't. I hope you are recovering well from your op

All very depressing - but how we do appreciate the sunshine when it appears at last! The trees are beautiful.

So true, Stera!

Thanks T'hippo - so far so good. But why doesn't your head like the sun?? Sounds like a design flaw . . .

... and did you miss my comment ?

Yes it is a bit depressing Stera, especially for all those poor people who have suffered.
My favourites the trees, especially in the wind blowing back and forth ~ the trees in photo's are behind my garden, in the high winds they were almost horizontal

Unfortunately S'Bub too much of my head is exposed to the sun :-))

Sorry TT I did, I am convinced deforestation is responsible for the change in the weather especially the rain forests!!

I often wonder where all the little creatures & birds go too, I know there is a wren in my shed, somehow he found his way in there sheltering from the storms

Yes...
during the floods, I hope the creatures find high places to hide. Lovely that the wren approves of your shed !

It has been a tough few months and one does always wonder about how many are lost out in wilds with nowhere to go and its heartbreaking for all concerned whether human or otherwise..We are all thankful to see a blue sky and have a calm day.....
