It;s Been A While

Hello everybody,

It most certainly has been a while – over a year i think since i last blogged on here.

The reason for this one is that we have moved to be closer to our families and we now live in Winsford, Cheshire.

First observation is that it is a lot colder up here than it was down south.

We had to leave our lovely garden that was 6 years in the making behind and now have to start all over again.

This bungalow is bigger but the garden is smaller.

I will put some garden photos up shortly to show what the work load is going to be.

We have decided to install yet another Koi pond and i will blog the progress of that for you all as well as the changes in the garden.

We have only been here since August bank holiday last year but already i have installed a greenhouse to help with the growing of this years bedding plants.

We have yet to find a decent garden centre as we don’t really know the area yet so if you have any ideas please do put them in writing on here.

The dogs have all settled in well and enjoy the open spaces that Cheshire has to offer.

I have retired now so will have more time to spend on the garden this year.

Somebody told me that i would get bored if i retired, but to be quite honest, i don’t know how i ever found the time to go to work.

Catch up with you all soon.

Its a difficult time of year to get started Tony, too cold.
You will get lots of advice from Goyers.
Mine is to hunt for Mauve, or Purple, flowering herbaceous
plants at Garden Centres. Bees like that colour, as its
3 deg.C. warmer. By buying herbaceous plants you are
creating a garden to make the local Bees welcome for years. Plant them together in a special bed, with your favourite fertiliser under the roots, have a chair to sit by it and watch the Bees come in the June sunshine.

Welcome back Tony, wondered what had happened to your update and now I can see why it never appeared last summer, it means we get to see you recreating a new garden again, I'll look forward to that, did you leave the pond all stocked or have to find homes for the fish, I've always wondered what happens when people move house as regards the fish..
Looking forward to seeing your new garden and once again watching your progress, hope you are settled and happy in your new home....

I have noticed over the years that when Goyers are away from this site, or ill, or moved house, the other members
do miss them. Pleased to see them back.
