We moved into our Devon based home 3 years ago, the Mimosa was planted some years ago by the previous occupant and we did not even know what it was. I now realise how lucky we were that the tree even grew here in England but Devon has a good climate. This last winter however, was very severe and we think this did not help after the lopping last autumn. I will be very grateful if anyone can give me some advice as I do not want to lose this beautiful tree. It is situated in a sunny walled garden which is probably too small for it, the former ownes thought nothing of planting 3 Birch trees in the small front garden and a Sycamore just outside the back gate, there is also a lovely old Magnolia in the front which is very healthy.
