I came to this blog accidentally but enjoyed it so much when I received responses to my info on potatoes that I decided to stay awhile.

I'm retired and started gardening three years ago. This summer I'm going to get serious about growing as much of my own food as possible and saving seeds.

Haven't figured out how to grow coffee or oranges in Northwest Indiana but I have seeds from both pear and apple trees that I'm going to grow. In fact an apple seed sprouted between two paper towels for me just yesterday. I have huge plans for fruit trees, berries, vegetables, herbs and flowers.

The rascal dog in the picture is named Puppy and he loves to be out in the garden with me all day.

Getting attached to a garden and a dog makes me sound like a lonely little old lady but not hardly. I have three grown children with spouses, four grown step children with spouses, eighteen grandchildren (some with spouses already) and four great grandchildren. Somebody has to feed them all!
