CHRISTMAS IS HERE - MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL

Dedicated to all you hard working Mums, Wives and any Little Old Ladies with no sense…like me!!!

Well its Christmas Morn and Im already worn
4am in the morning and not very warm
My tummy is queazy with the food and the drink
Already consumed and we are still on the brink
Of the great day itself, and much more to come
More meat and three veg, xmas pud and then some
Wine …and more wine, more pud anyone?

I dont think I can face it, just the thought makes me sick
So I’ll crawl back to bed, tho my head still feels thick
But when daylight comes and the mob I must feed
I will start up again though Im sure I will need
A hair of the dog just to get myself moving
Who said Christmas was fun, all that cleaning and hoovering?

In forty eight hours twill all settle down and Ill
wander around in my old dressing gown
Bread and cheese will be lunch and a cup of Earl Grey
Will bring peace to my tummy, put the rich food away
Just a full box of bottles, and the freezer is clear
I can sleep in the armchair until…Happy New Year!!!

Good Christmas morning Tet! What a lovely verse, you are so clever.

Someone in the supermarket on Friday was pushing the trolley up the aisles and singing 'and so this is christmas' I said to him, you are about right! Christmas sometimes seems one long shop! He was oblivious! I don't think he even knew he was singing!

But today no hoovering (I hope) no shopping,

Happy Christmas Tet and your OH, have a lovely day.

Thanks Bloomer, yes like you not so many today! Have a great day with your daughter playing sous chef lol!

I cant wait to get back to my baggy trousers and sloppy jumper..where was that glamour puss my OH married? LOL!
Sticki, I often go around the supermarket singing to myself, even more so when its carols and the Slade christmas song!! He was probly desperately thinking what to buy his wife!!!! You have a great time too..actually you should try humming christmas songs around your Ma in law LOL! You might find the oblivion catching!
Thanks Terra, I thought of you three last night..Ive been watching a Doulton Plate of a Sheltie on ebay (thinking of my brother with his Mojo) and the Sheltie looked sooo much like Conker. Big cuddles for them too!

Thank you Tetrarch...Merry Christmas to you and yours. Have a blessed day! There is absolutely no prerssure in my house today, it is a day of remembering the ones who have none but at the same time having fun with my foster son, this is the time of year when I spoil him even more... as he has no-one else but me. So I dedicate this day to him and many like him. It makes me happy to know I can do that and my children join me too. :))))))))))))))

we dont have christmas or any other music in our supermarket ~ thats why it was more noticeable.

not sure about the singing, a little drink [or two or three] will help tho!!

happy christmas

Oh tetrach I do hope you wernet really under the weather too much. but the sentiment is there for sure.
No one too glam in house either :o)

I cheated and got everything prepared last night so all I had to do was light the gas at the right time. but I dislike the washing up of the pans, but eldest did the for me as part of her Xmas treat for me.

No SBG, nothing to write home about..lots worse off, they might even not have a drink to wash it down with..Ken thinks Im poorly every time I sing..and Ive been singing carols a lot lately lol!
I got a dishwasher 30 years ago and he hasnt let me down once!!
Thanks Michaella, hope your lad has a wonderful time, your love and care are certainly paying dividends..all those wonderful certificates, I would be proud too!
Thanks Grandmage, one of the perks of growing older hey?
Sticki, I NEED the drink to lubricate the voicebox..I used to hit the high notes, but now sing double bass!!

Hi M.....I did enjoy your verse; such talent :) I didn't imbibe in any drink at Christmas (due to meds) but I have had my share of home baking and turkey! I enjoy the leftovers more than the full Christmas dinner.

Nice that you've been able to get away to visit friends and I was relieved to get to the end of the comments to find you were feeling better again.

All the best for 2012...it's just around the corner. I'll not be able to catch up on all the posts that have been put up in the few months I've been MIA but it's nice to read just a few to feel that nice "belonging" again :) Cheers my friend. x

A lovely blog Tetra you`ve said it all. Like a good many I think too much rich food over Christmas and the new year as left me feeling rather bloated and lethargic. Paid a visit to David Austins yesterday and bought Graham Thomas to go up my kitchen wall (hope he doesn`t feel too silly climbing there lol.) which brings me to the question of a blog that someone did on growing roses - particularly in pots - I`ve a feeling it may have been you, I thought I`d saved it in my favourites but can`t find it, does it ring a bell with you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU and KEN.

Goodness, Ive been remiss this last week! Happy New Year Sticki!!
Whistonlass, good to see you again. Glad to hear you had an enjoyable Christmas despite the lack of Bacchus for company!! I will await pictures of your burgeoning garden with great interest this spring and summer. Happy New Year to you also!
Sandra,, thank you for your good wishes. I hope the new year brings you high recognition for your art and that Baz does all your digging lol!
Stroller, great to hear from you and Im sure Graham Thomas will be only too pleased to grace your wall. Dont forget that close to the house wall it will need lots of regular watering, a nice deep pot (found a great one at Homebase last year) and some dinky liddle pot feet. The other thing Ive done since then is to put trellis up on battens to give air circulation behind (worked well on my Dr Jamain and kept it free of black spot and mildew to which its very prone), about and inch or two away from the house wall. Glad you found the blogs useful.
Happy New year to you and your family also.

Graham Thomas is not for the pot Tetra planting straight into the ground, just making trellis for the wall will put in a blog when done. Thanks for the advice.

I knew it! Roses to a rose garden, not coals to Newcastle lol! Sorry Stroller, Im always trying to teach grandma to suck eggs as the saying goes...I look forward to seeing the blog, its such a gorgeous rose.
