Does this week resonate of summer?

Well it looks like a benevolent hand has changed our weather here this week.
Monday was good..we pottered in the afternoon, laying out the basic shape with sticks of our “Island” changes, and marking out plants that have to be moved to accommodate the internal path.
Tuesday was ok too, we dug out some plants and planted others and I emptied the greenhouse of pots as I split the daylilies and potted on the excess.
Wednesday was glorious. Spent 5 hours in the garden (with tea breaks of course!) We dug out the Crocosmia Lucifer which had gone mad, and also the Helenium Bruno which had a bad attack of baby Lucifer corms growing up in between its roots. We cleared away dying leaves and stalks from irises and daylilies and chopped away some dying geranium growth and planted out some heurcheras. Pottered among the roses nipping out the odd bit of black spot and admiring the many buds that were still appearing. There were some pretty horrendous sodden roses to deadhead courtesy of the continuous influx of rain over last weekend.
Today was also glorious – almost like summer again. Quick trip to hospital..door to door 1.5 hrs..must be a record!..home by 10.15am and back on the garden. Hubby went to Wilcos and bought about 100 plant pots with 75 percent off! Had to split my H. Bruno into lots of little pieces as the crocosmia had totally infested the roots. Potted up the lot, so if anyone wants a bit I have a few to spare.
My Camassia bulbs arrived. Six large beauties, 3 Leichtlinii Alba and 3 Cusickii Zwanenburg. All potted up with grit and Vermiculite!! Will decide where they are going after we have thinned out a few more plants.
So we had a little rain tonight and will have a little more tomorrow but hey! the weekend looks sunny folks! (My apologies to those who have had horrid weather!).
Will post a few pics tomorrow..been too busy gardening today lol!

Mixed weather here, but like you have managed to plant up a herb garden, move the big urn and plant, plant the bulbs, put in stepping stones through the lawn, move plants in the jungle and make a new path, take up some slate, move it and put down some new gravel, move the mulch from back garden to front garden..........needless to say the housework has gone to pot!! at the moment we are ahead with the planned jobs, only two large ones left and then hopefully we can relax.

Crikey you've been busy Tetrarch !!!!!its that time of year, I've been busy digging out a new border at bottom of garden, so digging up turf, why does it always look more when you dig it up?taken me 3 days and done about half, so hoping the weather holds out till I get it done, I'm so impatient just want to get it planted, have lots of new plants either bought or grown from seed all ready to go in :-)

Your right Simbad..a race against time..last bit of warmth in the earth to settle in the plants..so annoying when you stare at pots full of plants in the pouring rain!
Thats exciting, a new border..when you catch your breath you must tell us what you are planting.

Wheyhey! When digging up a bit of garden couple weeks back, found some old tubers from a dwarf alstroemeria I planted three years back..haven't seen it for last two year, assumed it died.
Well I chucked the tubers in a pot stuck a label on saying red dwarf Alstro..and guess what??? Leaves have appeared!
