My back garden ... a safe sanctuary for our April antics ...

Main lawn … here we enjoy gardening and games …

……………………………………………………………………..

Up above us, the beautiful blossom …

……………………………………………………………………..

Down below, Omphalodes, echoing the blue of the sky.

……………………………………………………………………..

The Wishing Garden … leafy and lush …

……………………………………………………………………..

Little Leo … a sunny face on every flower …

……………………………………………………………………..

Frances Rivis … always ravishing …

……………………………………………………………………..

Miniature lilac … intoxicating scent …

Sapphire the budgie is delighted with her first-ever medal … and her first-place rabbit design rosette .. both from an Easter on-line charity photo show …

……………………………………………………………………..

Truffle has been busy selecting the utensil he considers most suitable for tidying the garden …

……………………………………………………………………..

… while Neptune, a Sheepdog-in-training, has been foraging in the flower beds, rescuing the lost lambs …

……………………………………………………………………..

April days are brief and precious …

Safety and privacy in a garden are privileges …

I value them all very much …

Super garden TT, and your apprentice gardeners seem to be doing a great shop. Sapphire looks to be a future champion! !

Your garden looks wonderful, love your spring colour and I can't get over how good your lawn looks with having 2 dogs! Mine is in a dreadful state with my 2 boys having torn it to pieces playing chase with each other. Shadow is so full of energy that even with 2 long walks a day, he still can't wait to get into the garden and play with Ben. Like your front garden, its beautiful. Jen

What can I say. Absolutely beautiful it really is. I wish I was your neibour, that garden is wonderful and must be lovely to view on a daily basis. And as for your helpers well they are too cute for words! They all need pay rises though, ( they told me so themselves! Lol) ..... plus they said extra treats for all of them as well! Hehe ๐Ÿ˜€!
And I must say your blog really made me smile/laugh too! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚xxx

It's your hard work last summer that has made you all so safe and secure, Tt.
Those lambs are so lucky to have such an attentive sheep dog to look after them.

20 Apr, 2017

Thanks folks ...
You are all more than welcome as my new neighbours ..

Jen... my lawn starts to suffer when it dries out in the summer months... but somehow it always recovers !

Thanks Paul ..
Lately I've been especially thankful that I devoted the extra time and money to improving garden privacy. My young sheepdog is very attentive to everything ... he can be exhausting .. but always fun !

Glad to hear you ve got some privacey now I dont blame you blocking them out. I was watching a history program on the Celts they had this instrument very tall with like a horses head on it when you blow or vibrate your lips its very loud sounding bigger than an explosion they used it to frighten the enemy and they ran away it is very tall about 12 ft I thought of you using it on your nieghbours. ๐Ÿ˜„

Hi 3d ...
those ancient tribes had some interesting ideas !

20 Apr, 2017

They certainly did some we could do with nowadays for certain๐Ÿ˜„ ots people sad to say it was the only one of its kind they found.

Well done Sapphire. I'm glad to see you and the other Team Terra members enjoying this lovely weather. It looks like Neptune's training is going well. Thank you for sharing TT.

Love Frances Rivis. Are sheepdogs supposed to chew lamb's ears!

20 Apr, 2017

Yes, looks as though Neptune is getting the right idea! Your garden is looking as lovely as always Terra. That Omphalodes is a beautiful shade - do you know the variety?
It was great to hear you are feeling safe in the garden at last - worth all your hard work!

20 Apr, 2017

Well done, Sapphire!
Truffle deserves extra treats for his tidying duties & Neptune seems to be getting the right idea too.
Your back garden looks to be a real retreat, so lush & attractive. You must have worked hard last year for it to look so good.

Every picture in your blog made me smile. I totally agree with you about the peace and joy that the privacy of a garden brings. Yours must be a beautiful haven and I am so glad that it gives you the contentment and solitude that you deserve.

Well done. My Gerbil 'Squeak' died last month. 'Bubble' was very sad for 3 weeks they had been together in the large fish tank in my lounge for 4 years. She is back to chewing egg boxes again now, so I am still in the compost recycling business.
When she dies I will get another pair of young ones.
Wouldnt want to get her a pal and find they fight !

Thanks for your super comments ...

Scotsgran and Siris ...
Neptune is very eager to learn .. any lost lambs will be found for sure ...

Stera.. the Omphalodes is Cherry Ingram... I love it.

Greenfinger and Wildrose ...
I'm doing my best to maintain safety and privacy .... both very important ... in fact, they are essential ..

Diane ... So sad to read that Squeak died last month. Sensible of you to not introduce another gerbil, but wait, and buy two youngsters at a later date. In the online charity photo shows, Sapphire's picture was competing against all pets of all sizes, so a nice win for the little pets !

Thank yoU for the info Terra.

Looks a beautiful haven.TT.......so pleased you feel safe now.....we should all be able to have that feeling in our gardens.

21 Apr, 2017

Thanks J ...
The danger is still there ... immediately the other side of the fence ...
... I would feel much less safe without my new sheds forming a barrier, so I'm very glad that last year I put the effort into redesigning that area of my garden, and putting in the concrete paving bases etc... all very worthwhile.

22 Apr, 2017

A lot of hard work but well worth it......hope the months ahead are happy ones for you TT.

23 Apr, 2017

Thank you J ... that's very kind ..
I feel I need one more 'structure' in place to improve privacy and safety even further ...

I do like looking at images of your garden, Terra. The plants and animals obviously love you.

Sapphire's a beautiful bird. Are you going to get her a partner?

1 May, 2017

Hi Eirlys ..
Thank you for your kind comments. Sapphire is in love with lots of her plastic toys, so she already has far too many boyfriends !
