FLOWER POT MUSICIANS ♫♫

On a happy summer’s day, we travelled across Northamptonshire to Kislingbury village.

Before going on to the fête and dog show, we stopped to admire the Kislingbury villagers’ Flower Pot Display.

The flower pot theme was MUSIC

Wizard of Oz

Follow the Yellow Brick Road

The Wicked Witch is Dead with brilliant Tin Man

Fantastic Flower Pot Toto

Oooops …. avoid that car …!!!

I was risking life and limb to take these pics !

Orphanage …

… and orphans

Attractive brick containers …

I’d like some of those for my garden …

Bongo trio …

This was outside a pub called The Sun Inn

Solo guitarist …

… but will his arms reach the strings ? ;o)

Gaga …

Scary !

Nursery rhymes …

Tired Flower Pot musician ..

… with a pretty garden !

Grass hair day !

King of the Swingers …

Elton was wonderful but wind blown !

… and why was this theme one of my favourites ?

… Stairway to Heaven …

… because of the apt location … Lol

I hope you enjoyed these …

I have enough flower pot musician pics for another blog some time if you wish …

Brilliant TT! I love these village competitions - They bring out the community spirit in people... They take a lot of organising but can be such good conversation starters...! :o)))

21 Oct, 2013

Need a smile, and it brought it to my face. Some people are so clever, full of fun, and community spirit. Thanks TT for your cheerful presentation.

Brilliant blog TT. Thank you for showing it. Yes please to some more. You have cheered up a fairly chilly Monday morning. They must have been rocking in the aisles on Sunday. House prices are set to rocket in Kislingbury, you have really put it on the map. What a fun place to live.

Thank you everyone for your interesting comments ...

... fascinating to read which flower pot musicians are your favourites !

Some time soon, I'll look for more of my musical FPP pix and then I'll put them into a second blog ...

My thanks to the Kislingbury villagers for a wonderful display !

Bongo Trio - Steals the show! Each one has a personality. Very clever and comical. I think I know the one on the left!

21 Oct, 2013

Wonderful blog, TT! :-)) Brought lots of smiles to my face as well! What a wonderful imagination these people have - they could come up here & use some of the 100s of flowerpots in our greenhouse on Gerry's allotment!

21 Oct, 2013

Hi Bathgate ... Bongo Trio seems very popular !

Hello Balcony ...
Maybe next year, you and Gerry and the other allotmenteers could devise your own Flower Pot People displays !

21 Oct, 2013

This is my third vist to your blog TT. I am enjoying it so much. Did your two not want to take Toto along to the show. That Grass Hair Day drummer is giving it laldy. I can hear him from here.

Wonderful pics Terratoonie.

I love the 'Bad hair day' ...
.... and the 'Orphans & orphanage'.
... puts me in mind of all the little flowerpots that get shoved in a corner of the garden & forgotten - they are orphans!!

What patience & imagination people have.

Hi Scotsgran ..
That's nice you've visited the blog lots of times :o)

Thanks Shirl ...
Some of the intricacies of the displays, I didn't notice myself until I saw my photos on the computer screen ..
great attention to detail by the flower pot artists !

22 Oct, 2013

Fantastic blog, it too such a lot of imagination...

22 Oct, 2013

Hi Terratoonie: Thank you. My mind is already buzzing with ideas. Unfortunately, I'm across the sea in New York. However, if you need a free hand, I'd love to come and help.

22 Oct, 2013

Hello Breda ... thank you ...

Hi again Bathgate ...
Maybe in New York you could make a little flower pot person and photograph it for us !

22 Oct, 2013

Humm, interesting idea. Something to do with all those extra pots I have. Thank You.

22 Oct, 2013

Love them all but my favourite is the Bongo Trio, just so clever people to think of these. Brilliant blog, loved it all.

A brilliant Blog TT and so much fun , I liked the idea of a theme running through the village sometimes they are a bit disjointed with nothing to connect them ...

23 Oct, 2013

Hi Amy .. Thanks ..
Yes... a definite theme ..
I wasn't familiar with the village, and the displays were dotted around at various residential addresses !
... so I ran around with my camera, and then kept stopping to ask locals to direct me on to the next Flower Pot musicians !
Very much a keep-fit exercise ... Lol.

23 Oct, 2013

You can't beat a bit of eccentricity ....love them all, especially Stairway to Heaven. What a fantastic effort on the part of all the contributors .... looking forward to the next part, to put a smile on all our faces:-))

17 Nov, 2013
