TT thankyou for the tour of your beautiful garden.

4 May, 2013

Wow - I wish I was your postie TT ;) What a gorgeous path to walk up.
I've been blessed with baby goldfinches and baby something else (don't know what yet) visiting the feeders all day. I brought the cats in and put my neighbours cats in - 'just in case' :)

4 May, 2013

Meant to add - I bought some new Doronicium today - inspired by your picture yesterday. If the area get wet again, I'll lift it before it drowns.

4 May, 2013

Thanks Kath .. glad you enjoyed the tour :o)

Hi Angie ...
Good idea to protect the baby goldfinches.
Maybe you could put some shingle under the doronicum to aid drainage ?

PS My postie wears shorts. He seems to enjoy walking along the path.. Lol.

T T you are so lucky to have all that colour in your garden you could almost say you live in the Mediterranean lol , I must plant some Aubrieta .

4 May, 2013

Beautiful angles on your front garden,Terra..it's a credit to all your hard work..if I lived near you,you would be thinking I was casing the joint..as I would never be away ! Lol...I suppose the hardest thing was creating that layout, and deciding what to plant..very creative, and works so well ..xx

4 May, 2013

It really is an absolutely beautiful sight. I bet it brings a smile to many faces every day! Well done terra, you must be really dedicated, especially to have such a lovely front garden. I think fewer of us like working in full view of the neighbours, I don't anyway. However, having seen your garden again today, I am going to introduce more colour to my front patch. They can snigger at me if they like! P.s. coronilla looks fab by the arch!

4 May, 2013

Hello Kidsgran... I'm pleased you like my gardens.

Thanks Sandra ..
I created my gardens a little at a time. I didn't have a complete design in mind at first ... xx

Hi Karen ..
glad you noticed the Coronilla ... I was really unsure if it would cope well with the cold weather ...
There are not many passers-by .. mostly neighbours driving their cars ...
Good luck with working on your front garden :o)

I look at your garden and then at mine and think - how on earth does she do it? Always so gorgeous nd the blogs are a joy. Love the robin - is it the same bird we've seen before I wonder?

4 May, 2013

Absolutely beautiful!

4 May, 2013

Simply fabulous from every angle TT, no wonder your Robin sings all day every day what better place for him to call home :o)

4 May, 2013

Passers-by must just stand and stare when they see your garden. It is so very, very pretty and the colours are so uplifting.
Well done you :-)

4 May, 2013

Stunning.

5 May, 2013

I wanted to ask, TT, do you fertilise your perennials? For instance, do you fertilise Aubrieta? Beceuase your are so rich and expanding, so I wonder if you add there something ;-)

5 May, 2013

wow your garden is so colourful, stunning:))))

5 May, 2013

Thanks Hywel, Dee, Warwick, Janey, Michaella, Neena, Chris, Klahanie, and Mark ...

Stera ...
yes, it does seem to be the same resident robin !

Katarina ... I'm please my garden inspired you to buy aubrieta ...
I don't give my aubrieta special feed. It just needs a soil which is not too acidic, and has reasonably good drainage. Good luck with yours .. it will spread each year.

5 May, 2013

My word, do you have your own micro-climate? Your garden is a picture! Even your grass looks immaculate, unlike mine which is full of moss and weeds ... I dashed out yesterday morning to treat it with spring weed, feed and mosskiller granules before the showers arrived. :-)

5 May, 2013

Hi Xela .. Thanks !
My lawns mostly have good drainage, but there are some very small-leaf weeds which I've decided to accept, as they don't seem to damage the grass itself.

Are you able to aerate your lawns with a fork ? That would discourage moss and promote growth of grass ...
Sunny here today ... I hope you have the same nice weather .. :o)

5 May, 2013

TT, its like an artists palette but with more shape and form. It must give any passers a feeling of joy, no wonder the postie wears shorts he must feel like he`s on holiday.

5 May, 2013

Thanks Stroller ..
My road isn't in an area where people stop to look at gardens ... that's why I especially appreciate the comments and 'likes' of GoYers !

5 May, 2013

Top notch.
(Mouldy goes out to scold his wee strip into performing better)

5 May, 2013

Hi Mouldy .. Thanks ..
Please don't scold your garden ...
... talk to it nicely ;o)

5 May, 2013

Oh, I don't do it verbally, heavens forfend.
I show it photos of other gardens & raise my eyebrows questioningly. ;-)

5 May, 2013

subtle ... but effective ;o)

5 May, 2013

Aboslutely fabulous, I must, must go and buy some more Aubrettia! it is my dream garden Terra;0))

5 May, 2013

Thanks Carole ... pleased you like it so much :o)

5 May, 2013

Another world! Your climate must be just right to give such a fantastic show and of course your hardwork is a big contributor.

5 May, 2013

Hi J .. thanks ..
I'm lucky that my garden soil seems to suit rockery plants such as aubrieta ..

5 May, 2013

My back lawn gets quite a lot of traffic on it so does get rather compacted, and it is on clay, so I have to keep on top of spiking it with a fork. The front lawn is better, except where it is shadowed by the beech hedge. I don't mind the odd dainty daisies but celandines and dandelions are another matter.
I bought a little variegated aubretia two years ago, it didn't do much last year but this year it is flowering its head off and looking very happily settled in. They are so pretty, aren't they! I am looking forward to it being the size of yours and tumbling over the low wall just outside my front door.

6 May, 2013

What a lovely garden path to walk up TT. So colourful and welcoming. Coranilla Valentina is so delicately pretty. Will it stay that way or get a bit too frisky TT?

6 May, 2013

Just beautiful Terra, stunning amount of colour!

6 May, 2013

Thanks TT, your garden always brightens my day. Absolutely beautiful.

7 May, 2013

Good luck Xela with your aubrieta spreading ..
It will look lovely :o)

Thanks Dorjac ..
The Coronilla Valentina seems easy to trim to shape... I'm very pleased with it.. :o)

Thank you Nick ...
... lots and lots of colour.. Lol.

Hi Sixpence48 ...
I'm pleased you like the blog :o)

7 May, 2013

Beautiful! And so TIDY!

I keep telling my husband he needs help in our garden but he won't listen. Weeds can take over so quickly.

7 May, 2013

Hello Eirlys ..

This year there seem to be more dandelions around than usual ... I've noticed them in grass verges by roadsides ..
all sorts of places !

Thanks .. I'm pleased you like my gardens.

7 May, 2013

Wow TT absolutely awesome. I'm very envious. Can you come and do my garden? lol.

8 May, 2013

Hello Marjorie...
I hope you have a lovely time in Switzerland and a safe journey home to your garden :o)

Thanks Holly ..
Nice to see you on GoY :o))

8 May, 2013

Thanks TT... been busy but more time now.. :))))

8 May, 2013

It's a wonderfully colourful garden Tt..........smashing.
BTW, we were in cow watering lane, writtle again last weekend! I remember you commenting on my blog some years ago about you going to a dog show there!!! We are looking to move in the next year or two so have been driving around looking for prospective areas and Writtle is one area we fancy along with Roxwell along the road!!!

8 May, 2013

Hi Paul ..
thanks ...
good luck with finding a nice new house with a wonderful garden .. and pleasant neighbours ...
... and suitable for Paddy ! :o)))

8 May, 2013

That will be a stumbling block, Tt, the garden,as I would like a bigger one than, probably, we can afford. Squire's taste, game keeper's money!!!!!

Our area is set to become a highly industrialised, dock area as a new port and logistics centre are built on the river only a mile or so away!!! Meaning lots of people moving in from London and lots more housing as well as loads more traffic!!!! So, time to move on!!

8 May, 2013

That is stunning, makes me want to work harder on mine.
Love it...well done your hard work certainly shows.

9 May, 2013

Hi Mabroon ..
Thank you ... I developed my gardens a little at a time ... no definite plans when I started ! Lol. :o)

9 May, 2013

Hi Terratoonie, your garden never disapoints, what a joy it is, its lovely to walk down a road and see a beautifull well loved garden and yours must get some lovely comments from passers by.

9 May, 2013

Hi Julien ..
Thank you for your lovely comments...
I really appreciate those.
I'm pleased that my gardens have
sprung to life after the long winter.

9 May, 2013

Fantastic as usual! :-) Full of colour and so beautifully maintained.

10 May, 2013

Its fantastic Terra, so colourful and always a pleasure to see, our front is mainly carparking I'm afraid so I have to make do with two narrow borders and my planters for a little bit of colour, luckily both sitting room and dining room both look out onto the back which as you know is my pride and joy so I really don't mind..
You are so right about the dandelions, I have lots appeared in the lawns this year...

10 May, 2013

A fabulous looking garden, TT! :-)) I still remember your garden last year as well! The Aubrieta is simply stunning!

My wife & I visited the local garden centre yesterday & I saw a variegated Aubrieta for the first time ever! I nearly bought it as well! I had no idea that such a plant existed as I'd never heard of it before! Now I see you have one in your garden!

12 May, 2013

Thanks Nick, Sue and Balcony ...

Variegated aubrieta is fascinating, isn't it ! :o)
